I am an architect and kind of a painter, living in East Williamsburg/Bushwick, and working in Manhattan. I grew up sorta far away, and moved to the city about 3 years ago after having finished grad school.

I am a total achiever-type, with a pretty strong competitive streak; super driven and constantly trying to learn new things.

I am also pretty awful at describing myself: I am full of contradictions, always trying to make sense of things.

I am a numbers nerd. I work at a high-end residential architecture firm around Wall Street and do tons of zoning, planning and feasibility work; which to many architects sounds boring, but which I think of as a game and thoroughly enjoy.

I love my job, mostly because I love the city. There is really nowhere else I could do what I do.

music // When it comes to music, if it sounds like a place, I will most likely love it. My current playlist is topped by rec_overflow, Ametsub, Zeller, lucidstatic, and How to Destroy Angels. I'm generally pretty deep into IDM, minimalist electronica and more modern industrial.

books // I heard it's cool to just list authors here. Here's the short version: Edward Glaeser, Jane Jacobs, Michael Lewis, William S. Burroughs, Baudelaire, Card, Herbert, Gibson, Dawkins, Pollan. I go on huge theme binges, but I'm always open to a good suggestion, so have at it.

- Bandcamp / Spotify / Associated devices.
- Soccer on Wednesday nights in Williamsburg.
- "Family dinner" with friends on Tuesdays.
- Puzzles. (ie: Work. I love it.)
- Long walks with my headphones on. Especially at night.
- Art supplies.

People.
Shiny things.
Things I should be making (sounds, paintings, drawings).

Typical Fridays are rarely typical.

Friends are my primary concern on Friday nights. Be it bar hopping, drinks, dinner, romps through the city, a random art opening in Bushwick or a movie on the Lower East Side, I am happiest when I'm around people I care about.

Sometimes I do hold back on Fridays though; especially if I am expecting Saturday to be awesome.
