My self-summary
+ I try to keep a positive outlook on life. I think most pessimists are unhappy because they don't see the good in their lives.

+ I love dogs. Unfortunately I'm stuck with my parents yorkie who ignores me whenever I'm around. I'm now dying to have a dog of my own.

+ I like to travel. I've been lucky enough to go to Germany, France, Belgium, Italy, Peru, and most recently Bolivia. But I've also had the misfortune of losing all of the original pictures that I took during my trips, aside from Bolivia. I'm not too bummed about it though, I see it as an opportunity to go back and re-take all of them.

+ I always hate seeing people waste their potential and not follow their dreams.

+ I'm not used to dating and usually feel like I'm terrible at it and potentially awkward, sorry about that...
What I’m doing with my life
Working with NGOs and doing the odd design/translation job wherever I can. In the meantime I cook and occasionally blog about it. My brownies can not be beat.
I’m really good at
+ Cooking. I love to do it, especially for other people.

+ Narrating what dogs are thinking. It's a gift.

+ Spotting IKEA items in commercials.

+ Having crazy dreams.

+ Procrastinating

+ Finding ways of keeping up with American television while abroad

+ Getting bitten multiple times by mosquitoes grrr.....

+ Surviving dysentery
The first things people usually notice about me
I'm not really sure, to be honest. Feel free to let me know though
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books: Just got into the A Song of Ice and Fire series, it's kind of taking over my life...

Movies: basically comedies, historical dramas, a smattering of French films, Miyazaki, and Pixar. Specific winners on my list are Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs, Amadeus, The Pianist, The Holiday, the Ocean's series...

An important note about movies: I hate Will Ferrel movies. If I watch one with you it is the ultimate testament of my love. The one exception I make is Elf and really it's because I love the song "Baby It's Cold Outside"

TV: Honestly, I just don't watch that much TV anymore...

Music: You could probably woo me with a mix of Jack Johnson, The Beatles, Weezer, and Dave Matthews Band.
The six things I could never do without
Aside from family and friends (even if via Skype), food, water, etc.:

1) my passport (which is quickly filling up)
2) access to a map
3) a time keeping apparatus, usually my phone
4) dogs
5) internet
6) ...?
I spend a lot of time thinking about
- Food, specifically techniques more than recipes
- The next great gadget coming up
- Why do I suck so much at hiking?
- What's the spanish word for ______?
- What new places should I visit?
- Puppies.
On a typical Friday night I am
Just got a Disney pass so I think I'll be spending more time there on Friday nights.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I used to take tests for fun, meaning that I was in the Academic Pentathlon and have a few medals to prove it.

I'm a fairly open and honest person, so feel free to ask me anything.

You should message me if
You have some sort of ambition, you aren't satisfied with a dead end job, you work towards your happiness, you love dogs, you have a sense of humor, you aren't ashamed of belting out potentially embarrassing songs in the car...
