I am awesome, hilarious, and standing behind you!.

My Self-Summary

I live in Perth, Australia, which is a great place to live if you like boredom and heat. And wet, if it is winter. I love winter - well, winter nights, anyway. Warm days and cold nights, thats the ticket. The weather of late has been crazy but relevant to my interests.

Im a geek. Or a nerd. Which of those is cooler, by the way? I always forget. I always thought geek was the cool one, but apparently its not? Anyway, I might be white and nerdy, but Im also loud, ridiculous and have spent far too much money on music-related adventures.

I work in Fremantle, which is awesome even if it is a 30 minute drive every morning. Oh, and aside from the fact that it is slowly turning me into a hippy.

Stop reading this and message me instead. But if you are interested in cyber-stalking, I will save you some googling by mentioning that I have a LiveJournal... guess what name I use... and an MSN contact (exactly what you would expect @hotmail.com). Dont email me there, though. It wont work. My email address is SECRET.

What I’m doing with my life

Wasting it, it often seems.

I play Floorball, which is an awesome sport - like a cross between indoor hockey and ice hockey. Oh, and I go to boot camp twice a week.

I spend far too much time inside (doesn't everyone with an office job?).

My job involves listening to the ocean, sort of. Oh, and lunch at the Mill Bakehouse on Norfolk.

I own a house, but I want to move out of it.

I also spend too much money on things I don't need... but isn't that the curse of our generation?

I’m really good at

I'm good at:
... singing off-tune
... being late
... procrastination
... missing the point. I get stuck on some silly thing and spend an hour thinking about whether a spaceship could actually crash into a gas giant or more just kinda get stuck. Or whether strippers tell their parents how they earn their money. Or what makes music music? Or how does a baby fish know how to swim? Or if the Hulk fought Spider-Man, who would win?

Seriously, though, I'm a pretty good cook when I have people to cook for, and I'm freakin incredible at regurgitation of random facts. Oh, and charming mothers. I don't know why, but people's mothers always love me. I think it is the dimples. (I have no special powers over dads)

The first things people usually notice about me

Probably my volume, because you can hear me from two rooms away. I have powerful lungs. People generally know what I sound like before they know what I look like.

Visually, I guess my glasses? Maybe? I should probably get rid of those anyway. I dont know. Or my hair? I like to think they notice my stunning fashion sense and youthful features, but who am I kidding?

Ive been told that my lips are best described as "incredibly kissable", but the person responsible for that was drunk at the time, so who can tell?

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

I like fantasy and sci-fi, mostly, but Ill read anything not nailed down. I occasionally read technical stuff but you dont care about that.

Movies I like tend to be somewhat intelligent or overly stupid. Sometimes both, in the case of Judd Apatow movies. In any case, I watch (read: download) more TV than movies. Dexter, South Park, It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia, How I Met Your Mother, Dollhouse, Entourage, Chuck and Castle are probably my current favourites. I also adore Big Bang Theory, and have a growing, albeit secret, obsession with Glee. My all-time favourite movie is Anchorman, and my all-time favourite TV show is Buffy. Closely followed by Scrubs and South Park.

I like any music with a punch - punk rock with a slice of blues, but I dabble in every genre. I have serenaded several cities with the subtle sounds of Tenacious D. Lately Ive been rediscovering old stuff, and especially loving Weezer. Regurgitator has a special place in my heart, but I sold my soul to The Hives years ago. Current obsessions include Blink 182 (they reformed!), Franz Ferdinand, Philadelphia Grand Jury and Vampire Weekend. Although TV On The Radio are making headway...

I love Italian and asian foods. Pizza and pasta and stir fry and Japanese. I eat too much chicken.

The six things I could never do without

My best friends, because they totally kick ass.
My computer, because access to the international cyber webs is vital.
My phone, which lets me talk to my friends.
My wallet, because leaving that at home makes life difficult.
My car, so I can get places.
Love, because it really has to be on this list.

I really need room for a 7th item - my books. I have a lot of them. Oh, and music. Dammit! This list gets too long!

I spend a lot of time thinking about

... things I should be doing, but Im not. For example, the washing I need to hang out. Also, anything but work. Oh, and work. Damn you, work!

... the aforementioned silly things that nobody cares about.

... at what age I can start to use my 18-month-old nephew as a wingman.

On a typical Friday night I am

Bumming around somewhere, possibly at a gig, or the pub, or a gig at a pub.

Or at a friends house.
Or at home, slacking off, because work can be hard even if you spend it in a chair in front of a screen (well... two screens, lets be honest).

Friday is actually one of the few nights I get to chill out!

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

I play a game I will not name. Its like crack, but more modern. Hordes of people play it, though.

You should message me if

On a scale of one to awesome, youre pretty cool. Or higher.
