My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I'm a busy graduate student, mostly looking for interesting people to talk with and have fun with, possibly date.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Finishing up my PhD: Mostly working from home and coffee shops. Working wherever and whenever I want. Trying to find ways to work less and play more.

Attempting my first in-ground garden.

Playing with Google Earth and planning trips to every neighborhood and national forest.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.

I'm an information connoisseur and a culture sponge.

Most of my reading involves technical scientific stuff.
I like to read well-written cultural essays that wittily shit on things that I either love or hate.

I've read some Delillo, Kundera, Pynchon, Crichton. I really like Catch-22 and 1984. Recently: Murukami, Cormac McCarthy, Christopher Hitchens.

Music: Neko Case, Starfucker, Talking Heads, Andrew Bird, The Decemberists, LCD Soundsystem, Glasser, Fleet Foxes, MMW, Bob Dylan, Miles Davis, The XX, Pickwick.
Lately, chillwavey synthpop type stuff; Painted Palms, Butterfly Bones, TV Girl, etc.
Radio: KEXP Seattle, WMBR Cambridge, SomaFM's Groove Salad/Drone Zone. NPR.
My favorite place to listen to recorded music is on a long drive.

Movies: I like movies by Stanley Kubrick, Wes Anderson, the Coen brothers, Noah Baumbach, or ones starring Bill Murray, Jeff Goldblum, Phillip Seymour Hoffman. Also: American Psycho (better than the book?), Rear Window, Neverending Story, Blaise Pascal, The Conversation, The Squid and the Whale, Pulp Fiction, Groundhog day.

Shows: Pop-science documentaries about space / physics that use all those famous scientists and trippy graphics. Carl Sagan, Brian Greene, etc.

Documentaries about anything.

Colbert Report, Breaking Bad, Parks and Rec, Community, Curb Your Enthusiasm.

Food: I will try almost anything. Favorites are Indian, Mexican, Thai, sushi. At home I cook vegetarian and eat a lot of raw food.

I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Far away places, psychology, biology, people, the patterns that sunlight produces when it reflects and diffracts on objects in strange ways

I don't heavily judge people by their education level. I'm working on a PhD, but it's just a life choice and a privilege, not some sort of super-hero achievement.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Reading all the tabs I left open.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit

I like Steely Dan.
