I design and build film sets, so I should always have a new story as it takes me to unexpected places. I think I'm usually good company and find great company in others. If you don't talk in single word sentences we probably won't run out of things to talk about since I'm keenly interested in people. The conversations will be especially long and in-depth if you have an above-average interest in movies.
What I’m doing with my life
I'm working in the art department on films. That means that each month or so I'm either completely busy or have nothing but free-time. I a comprehensive group of friends close and see them very often.
I’m really good at
Talking; I listen and remember things that people tell me. This
goes for trivia as well.
The first things people usually notice about me
That there's some inflection that they don't recognize in my apparently standard English accent.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
I read and consume TV & film pretty broadly since I'm of the absurd notion that a knowledge-completionist would be a good thing to aspire to. Currently when I do read I'm trying to complete the complete works of HP Lovecraft but I have read a lot of Nick Hornby, Robert Shearman, China Mieville and Michael Dibdin books. I know Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings and His Dark Materials inside out even though I haven't touched them in a good few years.
Movies of course are too many to name but a few include High Fidelity, Metropolis, The Devil's Backbone, An American in Paris, On the Waterfront, Pina ...I do also see all the Marvel and DC films because you never know if one will be good (Captain America 2, The Dark Knight) or bad (Green Lantern, Iron Man 3 -ugh!) And Mad Max: Fury Road was a religious experience and more people need to see Love & Mercy.
I watch House of Cards, Mad Men, Homeland, Game of Thrones, The Newsroom (try The Newsroom! It's great) I also like Arrow & The Flash, Sherlock and Doctor Who. And Nashville, go figure.
Music I like includes Jack White, Gorillaz, T Bone Burnett, Bobby Darin, De La Soul, Daft Punk, Lou Reed, Chali 2na, Mos Def, Yelawolf, etc
The six things I could never do without
1. My friends
2. Writing in some capacity
3. Making my own film about every three years
4. Sparkling water
5. The Mass Effect games
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Do I spend too much time being intentionally disingenuous? If you are a perceptive person maybe you can help me figure that out. Also, who would the perfect cast of a Metropolis remake be...
On a typical Friday night I am
I don't really distinguish Friday night and seemingly neither do my friends. We're perfectly happy going out on Tuesday night and staying in on Friday. Everyone often works on weekends...
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I once met a Game of Thrones actor and that night he died on the
show. I think I killed him. It wasn't Ygritte or George RR Martin
it was me, I know it :'O
You should message me if
-I've heard men can be pretty creepy on this site and clog up women's inboxs with variations on: "wow u rly hot. I think u wud like sex wit me." If I received 100+ of that every day I would lose all faith in humanity. That's not me though. Message if you like what you've read above and want a conversation.
