My self-summary
I am looking for someone to share some interests with and learn new ones from. Hopefully we can find common ground and move on from there. I am creative, athletic, and tech savvy.
What I’m doing with my life
My current hobbies include playing board games, disc golf, photography, cooking, and brewing beer.

Board games are a huge social activity over in Germany and there are many more games out there than just Monopoly and Trivial Pursuit. The great thing about them is that they are primarily a social activity. Winning and competition come in second to hanging out with your friends.

I am not professionally serious about disc golfing. It is just an excuse to get outside, enjoy the outdoors, and play with friends. Of course, a little competition makes it interesting.

I started out in photography with a cell phone which took some low resolution pictures. But it wasn't about the quality of the pictures at first. It was about noticing much more of the world and what I found fascinating about it. I then progressed to a entry DSLR and now to a professional DSLR. However, it is still about exploring all aspects of photography and how art comes out of it. And I like to take photo-walks. Wandering around and taking pictures of whatever captures my eye. I also like to describe missed photographic opportunities.

I wouldn't say that I am a perfect cook. But I am fascinated with food science. And I have managed to combine two of my hobbies together by taking pictures of the food that I cook. My favorite chef is Alton Brown.

I am more of an introvert than outgoing and social. I work for a computer company. And my exercise includes running, cycling, swimming, and yoga.
I’m really good at
Programming computers. It definitely pays the bills. Unfortunately, I am not working on anything interesting right now. Which means that I have to resort to working on projects on the side to satisfy my creative itch. I am more satisfied with exploring new possibilities than being the best at something.
The first things people usually notice about me
You know how most photographers do not have pictures of themselves? I feel like I can notice more about others than myself.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
I like science fiction and fantasy books. I am currently reading Alastair Reynolds. I recently heard about him from a friend, tried a book, and loved it. So I bought seven more. I've finished 5 so far...

I watch a lot of movies. Some recent movies that I loved are: The Hobbit, Skyfall, Chasing Ice, Looper, and Moonrise Kingdom.

DVRs and Netflix have made watching TV so much easier and more convenient. However, I have also been slowly culling shows...

I like alternative/techno/trance/industrial music. I've been going through the entire Coverville podcasts recently. Which causes me to imagine what alternate history could have occurred where the cover was more popular.

I am definitely a foodie. I like to try new places to eat. And I love the Austin food trailer scene!
The six things I could never do without
Friends, Babbage's Analytical Engine, a series of tubes, a digital Single Lens Reflex camera, good books, and any sufficiently advanced technology.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Participating in blogging and discussion boards makes me think about the entire gamut of life.
On a typical Friday night I am
I am out doing something with someone. A dinner, movie, play, concert, walking in a park...
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I have a Totoro plush doll guarding my bedroom.

When I say the pledge of allegiance I substitute "under Crom", because of course Crom doesn't give a shit.
I’m looking for
  • Straight girls only
  • Ages 34–50
  • Near me
  • Who are single
  • For new friends, long-term dating, short-term dating
You should message me if would like to meet and talk. I would prefer to meet in person rather than talk via messaging. We can see if there is any chemistry. Anyways, it is hard to determine social cues over ASCII text.
