My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I'm a New England native who has spent time living in the Bay Area, San Francisco, New Hampshire and Vermont (loved them all and return very frequently), but is now enjoying being back in Boston. Looking to meet those who have a interest in sharing and exploring all that Boston, New England and the rest of the world have to offer. Outgoing and outdoorsy - always up for a night out, a trip to the mountains, or a day on the water.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Outside of a job in finance, some things I find myself doing with my life... In general, if I'm on the water or in the mountains, I'm pretty happy. Spending time with friends and family. Competitive games of almost any sort. Sailing in the summer, biking/hiking in the fall, skiing in the winter. Long dinners and good beer with great friends. Traveling to spend time with old friends who are spread out all over the country.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
This question is certainly not designed to help up maintain our modesty, is it? Let's start with things I'm not good at...right now, at the top of the list is figuring out why the pictures in my "photo" section are in a folder, unlike those of everyone else that are just on the page. As for what I am good at, I'll offer some of the more random: hosting social engagements, fixing things, getting through airport security faster than everyone else, shoveling my car out from a blizzard, trivia, excel models, taking care of business (not intended to be as creepy as it may sound).
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
This is an interesting question. I honestly have no idea - it's all in the eye of the beholder - and I'm guessing that 80% of other people's answers are wrong...
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
A quick and incomplete overview (with some current favorites): music tastes typically centered on indie/roots/folk (i.e. Mumford, Okkervil River, Phoenix, Lumineers), classic rock (Paul Simon, Zeppelin, Dylan, U2) and a healthy dose of electronic/dance music when the mood is right (M83, MGMT, Girl Talk); good tv dramas (Homeland, The Wire); movie tastes trend towards historical epics, suspense/thrillers, intelligent comedy (Zero Dark Thirty, Argo, Lincoln); non-fiction books (especially U.S. history - anything by David McCullough). Feel free to ask and find out more...
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
This might be more than six...flip flops, fireplaces, Irish Setters, classic sailboats, lawn games, green mountains, pond hockey, sunglasses, warm flannel shirts, my car, IPAs, the smell of Coppertone, sun roofs, roof decks, swimming in the ocean, a great burger or burrito, summer cocktails, friendly banter, school allegiances, the Maine coast, competitions, learning new things, political discussions, my friends, my family.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
How I can have a life and career that have true value and will leave a lasting impact. The unfortunate state of the U.S. political system. Energy and the environment. Where I can find the next great IPA. When I can get a dog. Work. My next travel plans. What I'm doing this weekend. How to reconcile my summer schedule with my allotted vacation time.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Either on my way out of town for a weekend adventure or, if staying in the city, finding a mellow place with a good tap list to relax with friends.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit

Any and all of the following.... You've gotten this far and you're still interested. You're up for live music or a good beer. You aren't turned off by a little witty/friendly banter. You enjoy an intense discussion every now and again. You're intelligent and confident about it. You want someone to teach you to sail. You're looking for a travel companion or a partner-in-crime for your next adventure. You will challenge me to be a better person and more than I am. You'd enjoy getting to know each other.
