Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I grew up in New York and came to Chicago after graduating from
Indiana University in 2010.
I'm an independent, open-minded, outgoing lady with a great sense
of humor. I can easily laugh at myself and am able to see the humor
in most situations. Really, I’m just a kid at heart, but an adult
when I need to be. I also have a creative side.
In true journalist form, I love having a story to tell and meeting
new and interesting people. The writer in me also loves a good pun,
for which I've been called a dork. I enjoy girlie stuff like doing
my hair, makeup and nails, but I can also kill my own spiders.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I work a lot! I just started as a content developer for a learning
solutions company, I'm a freelance journalist for two newspapers
and I also work part time in guest services.
I adore spontaneity in life and welcome anything that breaks up the
normal, everyday routine.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Singing in the shower, coloring, making my friends laugh,
socializing, writing, telling stories, embracing the things I'm not
good at, bustin' a move on the dance floor (or anywhere really),
sporting red lips, and putting costumes together for theme parties.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I've been told my eyes. Some people notice the color, lashes, or
that I have naturally huge pupils. After speaking with me for
minute, it's probably my personable nature.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food

Books: The Five People You Meet in Heaven, The Help, Are You There
Vodka? It's Me Chelsea and magazines. I generally enjoy historical
fiction and (funny) memoirs and am currently on the hunt for a
good, new read.
Movies: Mean Girls, Forgetting Sarah Marshall, Anchorman, Billy
Madison, Happy Gilmore, The Hangover, Empire Records, Clueless, Big
Fish, classic Disney movies (my favorite is "The Little Mermaid"),
etc. I also have a huge "to watch" list that I'm working on slowly,
TV: Friends, Modern Family, Arrested Development, How I Met Your
Mother, Grey's Anatomy, Sex and the City, Mad Men, Boardwalk
Empire. The list is way too long. I watch a lot of TV. Thank you,
Music: Mainly rock and pop. I love '90s music! I'm not picky. I do
enjoy something I can sing along to and a good mash-up. Basically,
if I like it, it's in my itunes. I also have a range of Pandora
Food: Mex, Asian, Italian-- really I like all kinds of foods and
can be somewhat adventurous. What I do know off hand is I love
burritos, my comfort food is a bagel and schmear with lox, I pick
interesting sushi rolls and I have a huge sweet tooth.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
my hand-held shower radio
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
the future, my family and friends, what fun/new activities to do
next, if I can do that awesome dance move I just saw, magazine
articles, humorous anecdotes, the book I want to write. I have too
many thoughts to list!
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
After getting out of work, I'm either ghostbusting, meeting up with
my friends for a little bit, or relaxing at home while catching up
on shows and mentally preparing for a very early morning at work
the next day.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
Back in college, I used to write reading material for the bathrooms
in my sorority house. It was a big hit! My friends still request it
for their current bathrooms.
