I suck at breaking the ice. I am a decent conversationalist, but I am terrible at introducing myself or making moves to engage someone in a conversation. If you message me, I will likely respond. Just try to ask some intelligent questions so I can get talking to you long enough to get over my personal inneptness at preamble.

I am a crafty person. As in I like to do crafts. Woodworking, metal work, leather working, sewing (yes I do a lot of historical costuming). I tend to collect hobbies. Some I stick with for long periods of time, others come and go (and sometimes come again). I can also be crafty in the clever, good problem solving way.

I am not a big sports fan (it has been difficult living in Ohio as I HATE Football), although I do enjoy watching Hockey once in a while (I am mandated to enjoy Hockey as a Canadian). I am a pretty avid fencer though. I am not incredible, and I don't compete in fencing tournaments, it is something I just like to do recreationally and as regularly as my schedule allows. My love of fencing also comes with a mild obsession with swords. I do not really collect them, nor do I carry one around, I just love the beauty, style and art of the sword.

I'm a bit of a geek (maybe a whole bunch), I do like games (as long as they aren't video games, real interpersonal interaction is VERY important to me, so RPGs/Role Playing Games, card games, and board games are preferred strongly. I love going to Renaissance Festivals and things similar to that. I also am an avid historical re-enactor.

My life has changed a great deal in the last two years, so I have been redefining myself a lot. I am finding I am no longer interested in some of the things I thought I was (just hanging on to those things out of habit), and I am finding a rebirth of interest in some things I thought I had long left behind.

I am eccentric, eclectic, and random

Professionally, I'm currently an "IT guy" working from contract to contract. I have done everything from technical support, to project analysis / administration.

Personally, I am trying to redefine myself... Whatever that means. I'm still relatively new to Ohio, and am really trying to make some new friends in the area.

Anything I decide to do at the moment... That may sound arrogant, but I am mildly obsessive. When I set my mind to something, I tend to pursue it until I do a decent job at it. At that point, I will sometimes carry on with it, other times I will chalk it up to experiences of things I have done, and be done with it.

Either the piercing blue eyes, or the long blonde hair... but I am not other people, I'm just me, so I am just going from what I have been told... (Since I have moved to Ohio, my accent has gotten some notice, it is a subtle and mild accent, but it is there)

(A)Book - The Prince - Dumas, everything by Dumas! Machiavelli, anything by Guy Gavriel Kay (Tigana is probably my favourite), everything I have read by Neil Gaiman, early Michael Moorcock, history books, and other random bits of fantasy or general fiction. (B)Movie - Hard to pick just one, but.... The Professional, Labyrinth, The Usual Suspects are a few of the favs (C) Music - at the moment, Jackalope, Sons of Freedom, SIXX AM, I tend to like punk, alt rock, goth, early Glam (from the 70s) and hard rock... (D) Food - Anything spicey - Indian, Thai, Caribbean...

How to find some amusement in the world... while trying to keep tabs on reality...

Trying to take over the world.... Or just out for a good night on the city.... Or staying at home relaxing or engaging in some sort of craft like project... Or doing something else entirely.

I'm trying to take over the world..... No seriously, I am a meglomaniac obsessed with the concept of benevolent world domination.

You want to help me take over the world.... You think I might be an amusing person to know... Or if you want to duel (for fun, not to the death).

PLEASE NOTE: I like well structured messages, typos are acceptable, as are occasional grammatical errors, but at least make an attempt at using full words, sentences, and if it is a longer message, paragraph structure. Most of the internet chat conventions just confuse me, or piss me off as I think the English language has never been spoken or used so poorly since the invention of cellular phone text messaging and internet instant messaging. I'm not an English language snob, I just appreciate a reasonable attempt at using the language. I am even okay with the American version of the English language. (I'm a Canadian by the way, so sarcasm comes as naturally as breathing to me). This rant was brought to you by my frustration at a stranger, who tried to have a conversation with me using almost all acronyms. I HATE ACRONYMS!!! In small doses, they can be tolerated, and that is about it. Seriously outside of "LOL" and "BRB" (if you are in a rush) any excessive use of acronyms will ensure you get no response or further communication from me.
