My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I consider myself friendly, intelligent, and open to new experiences. I can take a while to open up at first, but I enjoy a good conversation, whether it's about something important, or about pointless fun. I have a good but sarcastic sense of humor, which I try to keep it in line!
I have done a lot of traveling, and it's something I really enjoy, whether it's short trips or a long vacation.
I'm also kind of a nerd, as my other info might make kind of obvious...
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I moved back to Florida about two years ago after living in Panama (the country, not Panama City, FL) for two years.
While I was there, I mostly but not entirely learned surfing and Spanish, and I helped run a small hotel, which was a lot of fun.
Since I've moved back I've been working on a small family business as well as other projects.
In my spare time I like reading, boating, the beach, travel, going out with friends, cards, movies and just relaxing when necessary.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
I'm really good at reading, writing, thinking too much, being sarcastic and knowing obscure random things. I'm also good at talking to most people... Usually!
I'm pretty good at cooking, and I love to get the stove going for a home cooked meal or a culinary experiment.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I'm really not sure what other people notice first about me. It could be my eyes, but I wear glasses, so I can't really say. Might be my on-again off-again beard though. (It's on again!)
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
I read a lot. I usually prefer science fiction and fantasy, but I also like mystery, adventure, thrillers, humor, and nonfiction. I like series when I can find them, but I also love good stand alone books. A few favorites of mine are: The Hitchhikers Guide To The Galaxy, Starship Troopers, Stranger in a Strange Land, the Foundation series, Dune. I also love (other) books by Michael Crichton, Tim Dorsey, Douglas Adams, Isaac Asimov, and others.

I like watching a variety of movies, but I prefer comedies, drama/action, science fiction, satire, and genre (not gender) bending movies. I don't really gravitate towards horror films, but I'll watch them with company. Some movies I like include: Big Trouble, Lord of the Rings, Monty Python & the Holy Grail, Office Space, Forgetting Sarah Marshall, Silence of the Lambs, Stranger than Fiction, The Princess Bride, and The Whole Nine Yards.

Love watching some TV shows, except for most "reality" TV. My taste in TV is fairly similar to my taste in reading and movies, but I try to keep an open mind! I've been using Netflix to catch up on some great TV, most recently Mad Men.

I like a variety of music too. This list would be really long if I tried to do it by artist, but I like Rock, Classic Rock, Metal, Blues, Jazz, Alternative, and lots of other stuff. I don't really care for Rap/Hip-Hop, but I will listen to some of it.

I like American, as well as some food of all sorts, such as Chinese, Thai, Mexican, and spicy food in general. Just about my favorite food is New Mexican (Red or Green?), because that's where I'm from, and it's so hard to get in Florida. I love cooking, whether from a prepared meal or something from scratch.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
I think about a lot of things. Often I think about life, the universe, and everything. I haven't figured it out yet, but I'm still looking for the Ultimate Question(s). I do know the answer though...
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
These days on Friday I'm probably trying to find something fun to do, so I might be at home. I'm up for most anything, so I might be out with a couple friends, or at least over at their place(s). Most recently I've been working every Friday, though, and my "Friday" is sometimes on Tuesday.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I'm kind of addicted to NPR
