My self-summary
I straddle the line between adventurer and homebody. I love playing outside, sometimes for days at a time, and going on trips to faraway destinations, but when I return home I need some serious couch time to regain my equilibrium. Most of the time, though, I'm enjoying life at the happy medium - going to yoga, happy hour, pot lucks, game nights, and concerts in the park with my fabulous friends, and just generally having fun with what Sacramento has to offer. I love living here, and if the area hasn't quite won you over yet I'd be happy to tell you all the reasons why.

In general, I am a pretty adaptable person, and I take pride in being able to find happiness in all kinds of places (in other words, I am easily amused). I'm pretty geeky, which probably becomes pretty obvious when reading through my "favorite things" section. (Some people list that in their "most private thing that I'm willing to admit" section, but not me because I think that being geeky is awesome.) Also, I am kind of a smart-ass, and probably not as funny as I think I am.
What I’m doing with my life
Working hard for an awesome nonprofit. Managing my super fun book club (six years running now, and the source of a significant percentage of my local friends). Undergoing a continuous quest to find all the best happy hours in the area.
I’m really good at
Random talents, some more useful than others, such as:
--Making pie crust
--Identifying actors from movies or TV shows that I’ve never even watched
--Proofreading
--Singing in the car (I'm only really good when there are no witnesses)
--Amassing large piles of books in my small apartment without even trying
The first things people usually notice about me
Well, recently I saw a barista write "black shirt, glasses" on my coffee order so that she'd be able to find me, so there's that.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books: Margaret Atwood, George R.R. Martin, Neil Gaiman, Barbara Kingsolver, David Sedaris, Jane Austen, Harry Potter, Hunger Games. Many, many more.

Movies: Eternal Sunshine, Amelie, Stand By Me, Back to the Future, Princess Bride, Ghost World, (500) Days of Summer.

Shows: Parks and Recreation, Doctor Who, Farscape, Buffy, Community, 30 Rock, Veronica Mars, Firefly, Arrested Development, The IT Crowd.

Music: Old standby favorites are Beatles, Ben Folds, Indigo Girls. Aside from that, a whole mess of different stuff. Five random artists that just came up on my iPod: Yo La Tengo, Gorillaz, The Strokes, Tori Amos, Lucinda Williams.

Food: I have a picture up of me picking kale. You do the math. I'm a healthy eater, organic produce and all that jazz. But really I just love food of all kinds. I could probably eat tacos every day and not get tired of it for a good long while. And just because I eat healthy doesn't mean I never indulge.
The six things I could never do without
--Fresh produce
--Happy hour Tuesdays
--Coffee
--Netflix
--My cozy little tent
--Trees
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Where to go for my next adventure. What meal to cook next. Whatever book, movie or TV show I'm currently wrapped up in.
On a typical Friday night I am
Sometimes I’m on the couch with my cat catching up on my Hulu queue, sometimes I’m out having drinks with friends. I would consider either to be a successful Friday night.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I sleep with books in my bed.
I’m looking for
  • Guys who like girls
  • Ages 28–40
  • Near me
  • Who are single
  • For new friends, long-term dating, short-term dating, activity partners
You should message me if
If you have something to say. If you can't think of anything, I'd recommend opening with something about a geeky book or TV show, a place you like to go hiking, or tacos.
