I am friendly, tall, and ummm.

My Self-Summary

At a crossroads, a long, long crossroads. Right now I'm happy doing some freelance photography, playing music, and trying to write a young adult science fiction book, but seeing as none of these things really produce much income I have no idea what I'll be doing 6 months to a year from now.
Also, I'm fun, friendly, tall and I would love to take you out to 80's night for some dancing.

What I’m doing with my life

I think I already mentioned this above.

I’m really good at

reaching things on the top shelf
climbing stairs (l live in a 4th floor walk-up)
biking
taking photos of people
arm-wrestling (well, for a skinny guy anyway)
playing music
boggle

The first things people usually notice about me

My height.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

Books: The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier and Clay, The Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter (yes, I'm a geek), Everything is Illuminated, On the Road, A Peoples History of the United States, The Unbearable Lightness of Being.

Movies: Rushmore, Old School, The Big Lebowski, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Dead Man, The Jerk, Ghostbusters, Star Wars (the original trilogy)

Music: Yo La Tengo, Johnny Cash, The Pixies, Sun Kil Moon, The Talking Heads, The Cars, Cursive, The National, Joanna Newsom, Hank Williams, Wilco, Bruce Springsteen, Death from Above, The Magnetic Fields, Le Tigre, Electrelane, Feist, Neutral Milk Hotel, Modest Mouse,

Food: Pizza, bread in all its various, fabulous forms, Ethiopian.

The six things I could never do without

never say never

Instead I'm gonna list 7 of my favorite songs (no particular order)

1. Just Like Heaven- The Cure
2. Billie Jean- Michael Jackson
3. In the Aeroplane Over the Sea- Neutral Milk Hotel
4. Dramamine- Modest Mouse
5. Carry Me Ohio- Sun Kil Moon
6. Folsom Prison Blues- Johnny Cash
7. Deceptacon- Le Tigre

I spend a lot of time thinking about

Music, Wisconsin (my homeland!), the ways in which the world is fucked up and how it might be better, motorcycles, the next adventure, whatever TV tells me to (just kidding!)

On a typical Friday night I am

In my room working on something, or out dancing.

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

I've listened to various songs from Thriller at least 30 times since Michael Jackson died.

You should message me if

You are a highly accomplished sousaphone player... or maybe just if you think we might get along.
