Each of these categories has their own roller coaster, with
independent ups and downs (or corkscrews, which are awesome).
I prefer fiction and the fantastic. To that end I usually read
sic-fi or fantasy. Lately I've finished "Ready Player One",
"Altered Carbon", and "Glasshouse". There is room for reality
though and I find myself tickled by social science/commentary books
("The Honest Truth About Dishonesty" was amusing).
Tasty food is the only kind I like, though these days I attempt to
hyphenate "healthy" in there somewhere. My preference is to cook
the food I eat, but that's usually at the mercy of my activity
schedule. Ethnic foods are the best, with Thai and Japanese cuisine
vying for the top spot.
Television and it's "shows" are a vortex that proves difficult for
me to escape once I venture in. I haven't had TV/Cable for over 10
years now and I don't miss it (Netflix will NOT be mentioned,
Movies on the other hand, I always have time for. And I like them
all. At this point I own a couple hundred and enjoy...most...of
them. It'd be a disservice to try and boil down my tastes to a few,
since I subscribe to the notion that you watch based on your mood.
But fine, I'll name names:

Finally, my musical tastes. I don't really listen to rock, pop,
rap, or whatever other genres popular with the kids these days. I
like electronic, so get off my lawn. Trance, House, Drum 'n Bass
and any number of their (ridiculous) sub-types. When I cook, read,
or code, I'll have some Jazz or Classical on too. And anytime you
put on something funky that's energetic with a great beat, you'll
get to see some better-than-average dance moves (liquid courage not
