After the shock left their nerves, the farmer and his wife scurried outside to see what happened. It was no other thunderclap they ever heard. Also, it wasn't raining.
The oak tree was now a smoldering stump cut down to size by half. The tree was also hollowed from the lightning strike. The fisherman had never seen anything like it before.
Cautiously, he approached the stump. There was no fear it would happen again, but the lightning strike was quite unusual unto itself. What was inside the stump was even more unusual.
Wrapped in a blanket was a baby boy. It was a blessing from the Gods.
Caution turned to excitement. The fisherman called for his wife. The babe rustled his soot-spotted limbs as he roused himself awake.
............and so on, so forth, blah blah, here's yours truly.
I'm a geek who loves most things sci-fi, fantasy, and horror. I get excited when the Sci-Fi Spectacular occurs in the spring in Chicago. And like most geeks, I love video games, Batman, umm....science....and stuff.
I'm an introvert, but I'm not afraid of people. I go out to Chicago at least twice a week just to get out of the house. I like going to bars that serve good beer and maybe even great food. And I like wine and some bourbon, too.
BUT!!......I'm not a big drinker. If I feel like living it up--like on a birthday or something, then I'll drink more than usual. Otherwise, it might take me an hour to drink one beer just because I'm not in a hurry to get drunk or because I'm occupied with other things.
What else, what else.....umm....I'm studying to be a nurse. I've a ways to go, but I have my state issued certificate to work as a nurse aide and I'm sending out applications and résumés.
There's some other stuff about me, but I think that'll do for now.
