My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Hey, I'm Mike. I grew up in Metro Detroit, Canton, MI to be more specific. I moved to Milwaukee in March 2012 for work, so I'm semi-new here. Be nice to me.

I live on Brady Street, so I'm not very far from most happenings in the city. I love exploring new spots. Random bars? Sure. New restaurants? Check. Off the wall event? Why not? I dig live music too, and am always up for a show. Looking for a partner in crime? Hit me up.

I make terrible jokes about almost everything. Puns are my favorite. You've been warned.

I don't think I have anything else to add here. Move Along.

What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I moved to Milwaukee in March 2012 for my job at Caterpillar making crazy big mining equipment. It's been treating me pretty well so far.

I'm trying to surround myself with interesting people who are in similar stages in their lives. I only know a (growing) handful of people in town, so I'm looking to meet other awesome people to do stuff around the city. I live near Brady and Farwell, so if you're in the area lets grab a drink or something. I promise I won't follow you home.

I like to travel. I've been lucky to get to do some of it with work, but I also do it personally. Since 2012 I've done, Australia, Taiwan, Japan, Hawaii, Vancouver, Seattle, Chicago, St Louis, Winter Park, San Antonio, Tucson, Washington D.C., Detroit, Prague, Dresden, Berlin, and Amsterdam. In 2014 I went to Punta Cana, and San Francisco. Where do you want to go?

I want to build a pinball machine.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Listening. Or at least that what everyone tells me. I also like to think I'm pretty good at snowboarding, but I know lots of people are better. I think I'm pretty funny, but i guess that depends on your sense of humor, and if I've worn down your immunity to my terrible and constant assault of jokes (it will happen to everyone, eventually).

I'm also pretty good at figuring out subway systems and wayfinding in new cities. This is a good skill when you travel, I suppose.

I can throw a decent costume together at the last minute. I guess I'm crafty? I hate the weird questions I get from the ladies at JoAnn fabric though. Yeah, I'm making a Captain Crunch outfit; don't judge me.

I'm kinda sarcastic, love puns, and tell terrible jokes to anyone who'll listen (and sometimes to people who won't).

I guess I'm kinda tall too.

The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
1) Friends
2) Music (Spotify has made this infinitely easier)
3) Food
4) Fun (including puns, oh boy)
5) Computerey goodness
6) I really like snowboarding.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Life in Milwaukee has been great. I still wonder about the future though. Must just be a human trait. I'm not afraid of the future, but there is some tension about the unknown. It's an interesting thought experiment to ponder on it though.

I also have an OkCupid pet peeve:
People that say "I'm not telling you anything private" on the private admissions part of the profile don't seem to get the point, and that bugs me. It can be something innocuous and silly. It doesn't have to be anything earth shattering, just something most people wouldn't know. This could be anything from the name of your childhood pet, to your favorite color. You don't necessarily need to bare your soul, just drop your guard a bit. Have fun with it!

How funny it is that C++ is in the language section. I, for one, welcome our future computer overlords.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Mostly dive bars on and around Brady. I've also been checking out random events around the city. Roller Derby, Hockey, Wrestling, etc. I'm pretty open, so invite me to something already. Why do guys have to do all the heavy lifting?

I used to think that my biggest fear was not knowing what to say to people, but I think that's changed a bit. I realized that I'm not concerned about what I'm saying, but more about what people are thinking. It's kinda silly to worry about saying something wrong to someone I just met. If they would hold some statement against you they probably aren't who you want to be around anyway. I haven't been giving people enough credit, and I'm sad about that. Maybe we're all a bit jaded.

My self esteem is probably the highest it's been since elementary school, and I have nothing really to attribute it to. I like it though, and I'm excited about the future (even if I think about it a lot).

I was the president of my High School Robotics Club. Not gonna lie, that's really, really, nerdy.

I'm looking for someone to spend time with. I want to take you out to dinner and drinks and activities around the city. I want to laugh about stupid things and have silly inside jokes and win you over. I'd like someone looking for similar things. Letters and sodas.

That or air hockey.
