My self-summary
Southern Californian trapped in DC. I hopped on a flight in an attempt to be a grownup- moving out here without a job or a place to live probably should have been a red flag... thankfully I now have both.

I guess I'm your typical 20-something: I enjoy meeting new people and exploring the city, with an emphasis on museums, dive bars and restaurants. Most probably see me as the stock funny/smart guy, but I realize how douchey it is to call yourself witty. I'm a little quirky and I try to find humor in everything, so I spend most of my waking life laughing.

I'm interested in self-improvement as a way to guide my life. Regardless of whether I'm at the gym, building a friendship or developing my mind, I try to better myself each and every day- looking to surround myself with people that push me and help me grow.

I endeavor to write the most clichéd OkCupid profile in history*

*Eureka!
What I’m doing with my life
Trying to get my coworkers to appreciate that Macklemore song "Thrift Shop." They're not going for it.

I work as a lobbyist for Goodwill to advocate on behalf of individuals with disabilities or other barriers to employment. I'm glad to help strengthen families and communities through my work; still figuring out what I want to do long term, but for now I'm happily chugging along.
I’m really good at
Toeing the fine line between humor and offense, planning for the zombie apocalypse, drowning post-undergrad hysteria in happy hour rail drinks.

I'm a standout trivia generalist, an above-average storyteller, and a habitual line-stepper. I excel at connecting with people, amusing myself with movie references and at using my social awareness to create awkward situations that only I find funny.

I have a knack for betting on UFC fights, but I don't own a Tapout shirt or a goatee.

I'm also great at picking out good beer.
The first things people usually notice about me
My chiseled jawline and Don Draper-like masculinity... well, that or my smile.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
My favorite authors include Mark Twain, David Sedaris, Salinger and Hemingway- I think it's because they all have an irreverent slant. I love any book that makes me think, bonus points if it can make me laugh.

I watch a TON of movies, and love everything from John Hughes 80s stuff to Coen Brothers, Tarantino and Wes Anderson films (pretentiousness be damned). I'm equally happy watching an Apatow comedy or having a Kubrick marathon- my favorite move is The Princess Bride and I try to watch pretty much anything except for chick flicks and Tyler Perry movies.

I'm basically a foodie who can't cook and who pokes fun at other foodies. Scratch that, I love trying food and sharing it with friends, but I'm not sure that makes me a foodie. I love sushi, thai food and good Mexican food, although I haven't found any in DC yet (suggestions?). I like trying new things and eating healthily and naturally as often as possible. Jumbo Slice notwithstanding.

Music: The Black Keys, Alabama Shakes, Arctic Monkeys and a million others
The six things I could never do without
1. A nice stout, or a cheap whiskey
2. Amazon Prime- "pistachios are HOW much??"
3. A good laugh- faux-witty banter, stand-up comedy or ridiculous conversations all work fine
4. Theatrical political posturing
5. Staying active- working out, biking, or hiking usually
6. TED talks, podcasts
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Predator drones.

Also, what I want to do with my life, why people do what they do, and what it means to be truly fulfilled- the usual 20-something panics. The range of options in the post-grad life is either daunting or invigorating, depending on the day.

But mostly predator drones.
On a typical Friday night I am
Ruining my Saturday mornings.

On weekends I'm usually out searching for the perfect beer, yelling at the size of tapas or dragging my older sister to museums.
I’m looking for
  • Straight girls only
  • Ages 21–25
  • Near me
  • Who are single
  • For new friends, long-term dating, short-term dating, activity partners
You should message me if
You'd like to grab coffee or a drink, are in need of a killer trivia partner, or just want to talk. We're already on OkC, our sense of shyness ended when we signed the Terms of Service.
