Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I am a single guy looking for someone to share life and love with.
My son isn't living with me half the time for the first time in
quite a while, and I am trying out some new things. I went to MIT
somewhere back there, and write media software for a living. I
lived in La Honda and then up on Skyline for almost twenty years
until recently selling my house and renting a place here in
Belmont. I miss having a partner and am just now fully ready to
entertain that possibility when meeting new women. I swim and do
other exercise every day as a habit, but am not overly fanatical
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Reconnecting with it, and being open to new connections and
opportunities of all kinds on an ongoing basis. Enjoying the ride
and participating in it.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Honesty, intimacy, conversation, observation, storytelling, sharing
and caring, science and technology, making plans and seeing them
through, being flexible (not mutually exclusive), living genuinely.
The first things people usually notice about me

Love all kinds of food and cooking; uni (sea urchin) is the only
thing on my don't-care-for list. Goodfellas would be a desert
island movie, but have seen, and like, lots of different things.
Using Hulu lately for video, and like Modern Family, Fringe,
Arrested Development, Dexter, Weeds, all new to me. Recovering Dead
Head, like all kinds of music, the usual pop stations in the car
(used to stay on NPR most of the time, now surf a bit more). Opera
at the War Memorial, other live performances, electronica, all
really can be wonderful, in the right frame and company. Used to
read books all the time, but lately mostly read only at bedtime, so
I stick with shorter things like Vanity Fair and the New Yorker,
and popcult fluff on the elliptical. TechCrunch, Gawker, and
RealMoney daily. Passing earcandy: One EskimO 'Kandi', 'It's
Amazing'; Scars on 45, 'Give Me Something.'
Okay, a couple of apropos celeb moments: had lunch with Lucas and
Speilberg in the Skywalker Ranch dining room (no, I wasn't the only
other one at the table), and 'partied' with Jerry Garcia onstage at
Shoreline (heck, I was right next to him, but he didn't offer me
any of *his* balloon ;).
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Loving and being loved, my positive outlook, healthy food, Pacific
Athletic Club, phone/Internet, my health, and the next breath,
really not a lot beyond that, as far as *never*. It's all relative.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
The connections and serendipity I see in my life everyday, and how
amazing it all is. The stories we tell ourselves and each other,
reminiscence and memory, and how software might augment those.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
...making dinner, maybe for friend(s), or out for a bit with
friend(s), surfing the Web, watching something on Hulu or listening
to music, maybe writing some. An adventurous homebody who is open

Anything at all, in person. I am an open book, if you care to read.
