My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I believe in living simply, in loving everyone, and in knowing yourself. I believe in living in the present. I appreciate the value of doing the right thing at the right time.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I recently moved to Bellingham after living in Albany, New York for more than 10 years. I miss my friends and housemates a lot, but I had the opportunity to live on the west coast for a while so I decided to take it.
Right now I live with my cousin, her husband, and their baby. I take care of the baby while they are at work. Being a baby, she can be very challenging, but on the other hand she's very cute so it's a tradeoff.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Cooking, singing, crossword puzzles. I've done all sorts of things, from writing a newspaper to yoga to game programming, but I'm always up to try something new.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I have a beard? Maybe that I'm pretty quiet when I first get to know people. I think it's better to say little and just do things.

EDIT: I no longer have a beard.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food

Books: National Geographic magazine is beautiful. I like books by Kurt Vonnegut, Haruki Murakami, Neal Stephenson, Gabriel Garcia Marquez, but my favorite thing to read is probably anthologies of sci-fi short stories. I read a lot of graphic novels as well. Also, lucky me I get to say that I was reading Game of Thrones before it was cool.
Movies: I don't watch too many movies anymore, but I like almost everything by Wes Anderson. My favorite director is Hayao Miyazaki, because his artwork is gorgeous and at times I just want to live in the technologically devolved societies portrayed in his movies.
Shows:Broad City, Archer, other funny stuff. I don't really like sitcoms or dramas, I mostly watch TV to get a good laugh.
Music: I don't know, I like all kinds of music. Kendrick Lamar, Azaelia Banks, Pete Yorn, Fiona Apple, Santigold, The Coup, Robyn.

Food: I really like macaroni and cheese, though I definitely don't eat it very often. I am an extremely not picky eater. With few exceptions I can't think of anything that I won't eat.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
friends, family, a good night's sleep, meditation, something interesting to read. That's like 4 and a half things.
that's it, I don't need more things.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
How to stop spending so much time thinking.

Also the usual what am I doing with my life, am I making the right decisions, how did we get here, should I be doing something else right now, etc.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
I just moved here so probably eating dinner with my family and maybe planning out a hike for the next day.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
Though I try not to be much of a consumer, I still really like to play Magic:the Gathering.
