Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Why are these all under one category?
Books - I tend to have phases instead of favorites. Dictionaries and thesauri. Cultural histories. Picture books.
Movies are my babies - I can't choose favorites. Netflix thinks I like screwball comedies from the 1930s, historical documentaries, British movies based on a book, silent classics, European dramas from the 1960s and 1970s, and intellectual thrillers with a strong female lead. They don't have a category for cult or exploitation - I miss good video stores.
Shows - Twin Peaks.
Music - old country, the slits, talking heads, bands that sound like the slits and the talking heads.
Food - Food is great. I really hate to leave anything out here. I used to like going to Chinatown in New York and trying things I couldn't identify... but now I live in DC... what do people do in DC???
