I am gregarious, intelligent, and humorous.

My Self-Summary

I am a silly, cute girl who just moved to San Francisco and am loving the ridiculous (sometimes redonkulous) things there are to do everywhere I turn. I like to brag to people in less fantastic cities about being front and center for an original drag musical performance of Heather's that only cost $7. Name me another place this could/would happen, I dare you. I don't know why I didn't move here sooner! I'm hoping to get to know fun people to explore with.

What I’m doing with my life

I've been working hard in Silicon Valley doing corporate work for start-ups, which is fun, but has been consuming and now I'm getting the chance to have fun in the city. Is it awful that I'm slightly happy that the economy is in the toilet?

I’m really good at

Getting caught in intense discussions about nearly anything, drunken karaoke, making and chasing bubbles (true story, kept a soap bubble alive in my kitchen for over half an hour. I looked like an idiot, but it was irresistible.), breaking bones in my foot (2 and counting, both a good story).

I love reading, travel to an exotic locale, hiking, making up words, giggling, juvenile behavior, causing my niece (objectively the cutest in history) to laugh, jumping off cliffs/out of airplaines (usually with a bit of equipment).

The first things people usually notice about me

I like laughing and making people laugh.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

Music: Ve, Mogwai, Adele, Lily Allen, Kate Nash, Sia, Bitter:Sweet, Bird and the Bee, Lenka, Band of Horses, Ringside, Pedro the Lion, Athlete, Aderbat, Rosebuds, the Colour, RJD2, Pinback, Hard-Fi, Doctor Rockit, Arctic Monkeys, though the classics are: Fiona Apple, Toad the Wet Sprocket, No Doubt, Incubus, the Cure, the Smiths, NIN, Nirvana, En Vogue, Ella Fitzgerald, Rachmaninoff.

TV: Friday Night Lights, Psych, The Office, Scrubs, Daily Show/Colbert Report, Weeds, though from days of yore: Cowboy Bebop, Inuyasha, Simpsons, Seinfeld, Futurama, My So-Called Life (teen angst, mmm... delicious), Six Feet Under. Mad Men is a fantastic show, but it made me sad about humanity, so I had to cut myself off.

Movies: Once, Little Children, Galaxy Quest, Ocean's 11, Pride & Prejudice (only the BBC version), American History X, Donnie Darko, Gods and Monsters, Mar Adentro, Spirited Away (okay near anything by Miyazake), the Incredibles, the Big Lebowski, Dave Chappelle - For What It's Worth (I may know this standup routine by heart), Billy Elliott, Groundhog Day, Fight Club, Brokeback Mountain, Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon, House of Flying Daggers, Monsoon Wedding, Dil Chatha He, Center Stage (trashily delicious), Le Fabuleux Destin d'Amelie Poulain, L'Ultimo Bacio, the Bourne Identity, Wedding Crashers, Zoolander.

Books: "Hunger Games" by Suzanne Collins (it's YA, but do not judge), "Perks of Being A Wallflower" by Steven Chbosky, "Jane Austen Book Club" by Jane Fowler, "Freedom & Necessity" by Steven Brust and Emma Bull, but back to the Classics, "The Dragonbone Chair " by Tad Williams, "The Lions of Al-Rassan" by Guy Gavriel Kay, "Prodigal Summer" or "The Poisonwood Bible" by Barbara Kingsolver, "The Moor's Last Sigh " by Salman Rushdie, "Far from the Madding Crowd " by Thomas Hardy, "Jane Eyre " by Charlotte Bronte, "Daughter of the Forest" by Juliet Marillier, "Transformation" by Carol Berg, "Cryptonomicon" by Neal Stephenson, "Kushiel's Dart" by Jacqueline Carey, "The Dispossessed" by Ursula K. LeGuin.

The six things I could never do without

Travel (or more appropriately, the fantastic experiences, sights, stories, people, sounds that are experienced while traveling), ideas (communication thereof), ethnic food, chocolate, vino, massages (only recently discovered on a trip to Thailand where a 4 foot, tiny woman beat the crap out of me and rendered me speechless and blissed out the next day).

On a typical Friday night I am

Carousing. I'm a big carouser.

You should message me if

...you're interested in meeting me and/or exploring the city. Okay, hopefully both ;)
