My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
student of discord. introverted, iconoclastic. eminently ridiculous. i was once described as a warrior-poet, which at first confused me but now i think it's probably appropriate.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
through storytelling and bad jokes i aim to become the eccentric hermit that everyone thinks is crazy until it turns out the craziness was actually profound, plot-relevant wisdom all along.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
making weird assumptions. missing the obvious. laughing it off. overthinking it.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
i am a being of pure light.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
books: i like a good story, wherever i can find it. favorites include gaiman, pratchett, vonnegut, but i am always looking for new stories.

movies: i think british black comedies are the ideal form of the medium.

shows: doctor who. twin peaks. the thick of it. various (but not many) other (mostly british) shows.

music: anything involving sean nelson, jason webley, joanna newsom, or eleanor friedberger. i especially like how eleanor friedberger can sing a song about getting attacked by blueberry pirates as if it is a thing that just happened to her and it's totally normal.

food: is tea a food? does that count?
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
irony, sincerity, stories, spiders, people, solitude.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
i have all sorts of pet topics! these include, but are not limited to, fiction, metafiction, stories in general, the inherent flaws of human perception, the structural inequalities of the world we live in, and what precisely constitutes a good cup of coffee.

oh, also, THE FUTURE. like, with robots and jet packs and self-driving cars and augmented reality.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
writing stories. (lately cyberpunk, also frequently fantasy.)
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
one of my greatest fears is that the new york times will catch up to me and write a trend piece about me. i find people who like me deeply suspicious.

i have opinions.
