For a limited time only.
jk.
but uh, I go by Haris.
Like others, I would like to believe that there is more to me than meets the eye.
I see life as a big field trip, like back when you were in elementary school. Except now as an adult, no one can tell you not to wander off and explore the things about the field trip that interest you the most.
Well, maybe the cops can tell you not to explore the big safe in the local bank, but yeah, you know what I was going for there, I hope.
I don't have many friends, but the few that I do have, I would jump in front of in the event of a lethal force attack without a thought.
I think depth is subjective, that's why I try not to be judgemental, but it happens. Even the oceans run shallow at their shores.
What I am looking for is just a special person who I can support and be there for spiritually, emotionally, and creatively. That's all I could really ever want in return anyway.
What I’m doing with my life
- Learning to cook better.
I’m really good at
(let me know if you know any good pawn shops with instruments :)
The first things people usually notice about me
My favorite books, movies, music, and food
books: Anything about quantum physics/black holes/time travel/ alternate universes, creative cook books, Mashenka(Mary), Plato and a platypus walk into a bar, Herstory: Women who changed the world, Cloudy with a chance of meatballs, The Myth of Sanity, Randian objectivism, Kantian ethics, The secret garden, A history of God: the 4000 year quest of Judaism, Christianity, and Islam. Currently reading: "America: A Narrative History"
movies: With movies, if I can remember even just one line from the the movie, then I like it. Some movies I enjoyed are Blade Runner(whenever I get into a bind, I ask myself, what would Deckard do?), The Seventh Continent, Willow, Blue Velvet, North By Northwest, Akira, Equilibrium, Splendor In the Grass, True Romance, Altered States, Wings Of Desire, Metropolis, I will usually like any muckraking political documentary or any documentary about space/science, and unintentionally funny 80's action movies with the "macheesemo" yet believable heros.
tv:
Music : Air, Beefheart, Cocteau Twins, Devo, Elliot Smith, Fugazi, Glassjaw, Humza Al Din, Isis, Joni Mitchell, King Crimson, Lisa Germano, Morphine, Neil Young, (early) Outkast, the Pink Floyd, Queen, (early) R.E.M., Slayer, (later) Talk Talk, The Velvet Underground, Wipers, Xiu Xiu, Yoko Kanno, Zakhir Hussain
Food: Foie Gras. No, but I like any restaurant that I can get into without having to normalize my clothing/appearance.
The six things I could never do without
2)Desire
3)The freedom to explore curiosity.
4)Dictionary
5)Salt. I mean, it really is no wonder that we get the word "salary" from it.
6)A Goodwill store
I spend a lot of time thinking about
The benefits (or lack thereof) of having a multi-party political system vs. a non-partisan political system.
