I'm generally laid back but I can get worked up when I'm stressed.
I guess I'm really looking for someone just to hang out with and
have fun. I can be pretty crazy at times, and I'm probably the
epitome of random. I need folks who can keep up with me and know
when to give me space. I'm not terribly political, I just like to
have good, clean fun (and video games).
Hm. What else. I like to just lay around and relax. I'm pretty sure
people would consider me a cuddler. I love fish. I daydream and can be pretty silly
(particularly when I'm tired...or so I've been told). I can be
serious though. It depends on what circumstances I meet people in,
I suppose. Some people rarely see my silly side, and others rarely
see me serious. I think what I prefer in another person is someone
who is mainly silly but can be straightforward and serious on
occasion.
Also, I abhor people who type with numbers (13375p33k - P13353
D0n'7). It's such an unwieldy way to write and it's so hard to
read.

What I'm doing with my life Propose an edit
As a person who has just graduated from college, I'm now employed
and not using my expensive liberal arts degree at all! I was a Bio
Major, Marine Science and Policy minor and I hope that in the
future, I'll go back to that. I'm planning to have real-world
experience for a year or two and then go back to grad school, where
I'm hoping to perhaps one day do some really seminal research on
squid and octopus. I took a few
education classes, and I loved it, even though I'd always said I
hate kids. I guess it's just not that simple. Really, who can tell?
My current employment requires learning more about the people and
hospitals of California. We'll see if it's really as great as
everyone seems to think it is.
I guess I'm also learning how to use my calculator. Because you
really could spend all of your life learning how to use your TI-83
Plus Series (mine's blue).

I'm really good at Propose an edit
identifying songs on my computer about a half a second in? The 2
single card tricks I know? Channel surfing? Beginner french?
Intermediate sewing?
Oh, I know. I'm really good at baking chicken. I have "mad skillz"
when it comes to making chicken. I'm good at slightly burning
popcorn, which is the way I eat it (popcorn was a large portion of
my diet when I was at college - keeps the room toasty, fills you
up, and is pretty light). Using parentheses. I like to think I'm ok
at drawing. I use my OKC journal to post comics I draw about my
life. If you're really bored by my profile, maybe you should just
skip over to my journal instead. Read the journal
here.
The first thing(s) people usually notice about me Propose an edit
My height. It's true, I'm really short. 4'10.5 and I'm not getting
any taller. I don't see that as a negative though. I just take up
less space than most people. After that though, probably my eyes.
My favorite books, movies, music, and food Propose an edit
I hate playing favorites. I like fantasy books as a genre. Movies:
Chick flicks, romantic comedies, comedies in general, action,
adventure, anime (though this is starting to fade from my
interests), sci-fi. No horror please. Oh, musicals are good too. I like to sing
along sometimes, even if my voice isn't the greatest ^_^; .
I listen to a lot of different kinds of music - popular, hip hop,
folk, a capella,
opera, classical. Some things I don't listen to? Country and
Christian. Ick. Oh. Unless it's Christmas music. Then I'm all for
it.
A more definitive list (I will never decline
watching/reading/listening/playing any of these things:
Movies - Star Trek IV (it has whales AND Leonard Nimoy), My Fair
Lady, The Lion King, Wasabi, Galaxy Quest, Romancing the Stone,
Return of the Jedi (ewoks! adorable!), Impostors, Newsies, Down
Periscope.
Books - Hana Kimi, My Year of Meats, Contact, Trickster's Choice
and Trickster's Queen, horrible romance novels by Sandra Hill, The
M.Y.T.H. Inc. Books.
Music - Melissa Etheridge, Vonda Shepard, Mika, Cobra Starship,
Fall Out Boy, Mamas and the Papas, Dar Williams, Indigo Girls, The
Nerds, Flogging Molly, Roisin Murphy, Natasha Bedingfield, Utada
Hikaru, Regina Spektor...I'll leave it at that for now.
Games (video and otherwise) - Soul Calibur (any), DDR, Karaoke
Revolution, Kingdom Hearts, Fur Fighters, Psychonauts, Set!,
Quiddler, Guillotine, Munchkin (any), Super Mario Bros. 3, 24,
Tetris, Boggle, Scrabble, Trivial Pursuit (I suck at it, but it's
still fun).

The six things I could never do without Propose an edit
My computer, music, paper, pencils, a good collection of
scifi/fantasy books, and a scanner.
Am I the only person who hates this question? I think they should
replace it with something more interesting. It's nice to know what
someone could NEVER do without, but it's rarely true, and not at
all realistic. I could live without books. I'd just be very sad. If
I had nothing else in the world but clothes and my self-esteem, I'd
sneak into a Barnes and Noble, but technically, the books wouldn't
be mine. I'd be without them. You see what I mean?

I spend a lot of time thinking about Propose an edit
Fish. Paint. Origami. Video Games. My family. My friends. My
computer. My education. I'm rather ephemeral. I spend a lot of time
thinking about a lot of really random things. What I would do if I
won the lottery. What I should eat for lunch. Should I call my
parents? What to do with the summer break. How to clean out the
tupperware. the best phrases for LJ icons. The Pretender. Music.
Coupons. Algae. The number 38. So on, so forth.
On a typical Friday night I am Propose an edit
Watching Movies or reading.
I'm practically broke at the moment, so going out isn't really an
option unless it's just to a local park or something.
Also, maybe starting new projects or trying to learn a new skill.
I'm thinking of taking up quilting. Alternatively, I may decide
to learn how to bake really fantastic cookies.

The most private thing I'm willing to admit here Propose an edit
I like to play dress
up. But probably not in the ways you're thinking. I dressed up
as a platypus for
a science course a few semesters ago. Yeah, it was required . . .
but I kinda enjoyed it all the same. In the past year I've made
Little Red Riding Hood and Cthulhu Lolita costumes and wore them to
my school's sci-fi convention.
Yes, I really *am* that much of a geek.

You should message me if Propose an edit
you want to; or if you think you can make me laugh (it really
doesn't take much, but please, don't try too hard...sometimes I'm
just not in the mood to laugh); or if you love animals; or if you
want someone with whom you can complain about the job/housing
market; or if you enjoyed "The
Importance of Being Earnest" yet also enjoy the refreshing wit
of Jackie
Chan; or if you just want to be friends (Especially if you're
up for some Soul Calibur
beat-down).
I can use all the friends I can get.
Oh yes, that's right, I'm "unwooable" now! Stop being
lazy/shy/obnoxious and speak for yourself!
