My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I am new to the Houston area working at a new job. I work very hard during the week and I like to make the most of my time off, and greatly enjoy company in doing so. I like to fish, go for drives, evenings with netflix, karaoke, playing my guitar, you name it.

I am a laid back guy who enjoys the simple things in life - music, reading, the outdoors. When I am not working hard as a welder I like to tinker in my office with various electronic projects. I plan to one day have a custom guitar amp business.

I can be a bit shy, but really open up once I get to know someone. I detest "frat guy" types, I'm about as far from that as they come. I am not looking for a hookup or casual thing, and at the risk of sounding full of myself I like to think that I am very loyal and kind. Hopefully you will get to find out!
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
work. math. music. pizza?

I have recently changed careers and am working hard building tanks for a winery.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
-math
-fixing things (but not people)
-using the right word, not its second cousin
-making frozen pizza in my screwy oven
-playing guitar
-folding t-shirts
-rock and/or roll
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
People tell me all the time that I have a voice for radio, it's deep and boomy.
Also, if my hair is down that is tough to miss.

Cap'n Geech and the Shrimp Shack Shooters

ok, so with the obligatory That Thing You Do reference out of the way,

I am a big music buff, I love indie rock like The Replacements, Husker Du, Mudhoney, Built to Spill, Modest Mouse, Arcade Fire, Wilco, Pedro the Lion, all sorts of stuff.
I also dig Nirvana, Foo Fighters, Smashing Pumpkins, Gin Blossoms, Neil Young, Led Zeppelin, The Who, The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Bowie, all of your standard classic and alternative rock radio fare.

I am also a huge fan of Bill Hicks, Louis CK, Lewis Black, and Patton Oswalt, and I love love love the Jon Stewart.

I have more books than I may ever be able to get through. I love all the usual stuff like Orwell, Brave New World, Clockwork Orange, Cuckoo's Nest, Gatsby, Steinbeck, Stephen King, Tolkien, Faulkner, Dr. Seuss, Tom Wolfe. The last novel I read was Super Sad True Love Story by Gary Shteyngart, which was great. I am one of those people who is always part way through about four different books, right now I am digging Don DeLillo's White Noise, Working by Studs Turkel, and Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance.

I'm also a big classic sci fan. Asimov's Foundation trilogy might be my favorite book(s) of all time. I also like Heinlein, Harlan Ellison, a bunch of sci fi short story authors whose names I forgot, and James Blish.
The six things I could never do without

-tools
-cats
