My self-summary
I'm a little addicted to travel. I love adventures big (last minute trips abroad, mountain climbing, jumping out of airplanes) and small (seeing what's down that side trail, searching the city for the best tacos). I wholeheartedly believe that a good hike can cure even the worst week.

I'm pretty active. I run several times a week and do yoga on the non-running days. My ideal hike length is about 10 miles. It turns out 8 is too few and 12 is too many :)
What I’m doing with my life
working for a non-profit doing research on mathematics education, trying to figure out how to save the world, and dreaming about my next trip.
I’m really good at
Remembering little things
The first things people usually notice about me
bright blue eyes
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
I love to read, and I'm oddly not all that selective with my books. If you think it's good, I'll probably be willing to give it a shot. Some of my favorite books are I Married Adventure, Night Circus, Les Miserables, Ender's Game, and the Harry Potter series. I also really enjoy Ray Bradbury's short stories.

I watch entirely too much TV… and at least half of it is crap.

I have really eclectic taste in music. I'm really into folkish right now (Punch Brothers, Devil Makes Three, Dirty River Boys, etc.) and rediscovering old music from the 60s-80s (on a Fleetwood Mac kick these days).
The six things I could never do without
my dog
google (I love the ability to look anything up at a moment's notice. I'm not really sure how people got their questions answered before the internet)
hiking boots
My people
I spend a lot of time thinking about
how I can single handedly fix education in this country (hey, someone has to do it!)
On a typical Friday night I am
probably at home recovering for the week. I prefer Saturdays for going out.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I tear up at the end of sitcoms when they reveal the sappy moral of the story.
You should message me if
you have a lifetime mission to dive with whale sharks (no, not in the Atlanta Aquarium).
you want to climb Kilimanjaro
you know a good tattoo artist in Houston
you wouldn't mind scouring the Laos jungle to see one of the few tigers left in the wild
you like adventures
you love a good pun
