I'm working in a gourmet coffee shop. When I'm not being startled by the espresso machine or being sassed by servers, I'm probably at home playing guitar or hanging out with my friends. I'm pretty low-key.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

Books: The Prophet (Kahlil Gibran), Siddhartha (Hermann Hesse), Cat's Cradle (Kurt Vonnegut), The Art of Loving (Erich Fromm). I like books with wit or insight.

Movies: I love a lot of movies, but I'm really not into the frat boy humor genre. Favorites include Benny & Joon, Breakfast at Tiffany's, Shaun of the Dead, Edward Scissorhands, The Court Jester, Death Becomes Her, Little Shop of Horrorsetc etc etc.

Music: I like a lot of Billie Holiday, They Might Be Giants, Eels, The Decemberists, Regina Spektor, Tori Amos, The Smiths, Donovan, Ben Lee, David Bowie, Colin Meloy, The Zombies...this goes on for a long time.

The six things I could never do without

Laughter, stimulating conversation, art supplies, hugs, coffee, a guitar.

I spend a lot of time thinking about

what I need to get done. And I daydream a lot.

On a typical Friday night I am

tired. I have no interest in clubbing, but I'm always up for some good casual company with friends- hanging out, karaoke, playing guitar, watching movies and whatnot. Especially whatnot.

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

I was married once for six months. He was in the military and it seemed logical. Turns out that's not a good enough reason to marry somebody.
