My self-summary Propose an edit

***UPDATE!***

I'm currently moving home and hoping to be done by Christmas, as well as all the other worky type stuff I do, and raising a little one, and so pleeeeeeaaaase be patient with me, I often come on here simply to read the comments of others and occasionally comment myself, but I want to put a little more thought into replying to messages, there are those of you who I am yet to reply to after sending *such* lovely messages, and I promise I will respond, just as soon as I can. Please leave your message after the beep. *beeeeeeep*

I am an artist/photographer/overly creative type person who loves travel, although i've never been abroad, but love seeing parts of the UK on a train n stuff, I like things a bit quieter, not in to clubbing or nightlife, unless its a little more sophisticated or unusual, you know? I like walking long distances, period dramas, history and culture and Doctor Who. I like play fights and kids films and hugs and looking after other people and I like it most of all when my son and I are all happy n stuff.

Also, i'm 5'6" if you're interested, OKC doesnt seem to like me revealing my height as I keep changing it and its not sticking, but I am 5'6". I thought I was 5'8" for like... 12 years or however long ago I stopped growing, but then I measured myself in Boots and lost 2". So if you dont want to get shorter, avoid Boots the Chemist and their shrinking ray.

What I'm doing with my life Propose an edit

I have a (nearly) 6 year old boy who I raise entirely alone, my family all live hundreds of miles away and so its pretty much just me and him most of the time. If you're not interested in getting to know someone with kids, then you and I can agree to not bother, for the time will come when you're gonna meet him, whether we're friends or more, so you're gonna have to know that in advance my son will at some point be around and its essential that you're cool with that, if you're not then please dont bother! Cos hes just awesome, frankly, and he wins every time!

However, with him growing up so fast he's getting his own social life and he's having more sleepovers and playdates and things which means I occasionally have the odd night off when I get to be me again and thats the night when I want you to take me out, please ;D

I also make crafty things like boxes and decorations and I paint and draw and god knows what else, I do loads of things, seriously. I dont really box myself in by saying 'I am JUST a photographer!' cos I do so much more than that.

By the way, if anyone is writing a book, I can totally hook you up with the perfect cover for it!

The first thing(s) people usually notice about me Propose an edit

Blah. I dunno. People here say eyes and lips, but thats just a picture, its different in real life, maybe its the boots im wearing or how my hair is or general overall body shape, god knows. Ask them, not me.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food Propose an edit

I love books, but I so rarely have the time to read them *cries*.

However I love history books, recently finished a book on the fire of London and the plague, some biographies of historical figures, fantasy and Sci-Fi, nature and witchcraft books (not a practising witch, but I have an interest in spiritual and natural worlds) also really love some of the Doctor Who books, I am a total Whovian, read The Burning with the eighth Doctor, thats an awesome book.

Movies, seriously, do not have the patience! I will watch something in the cinema with my son, but at home i'm so busy making things thats its usually on in the background or something, its never a focus. There are movies I love, and I am open to sharing a movie as part of a date, I could be cool with that, but I honestly do not have the spare time to sit for 2 hours watching something, same goes for TV.

Music, love most of it, I used to work briefly in the music industry as a reviewer and columnist, but I soon got disillusioned with it. These days I adore anything Greg Dulli even glances over, I like acoustic folky stuff and instrumental, like Explosions in The Sky, or Sigur Ros, that kind of thing, open to other stuff, dont like to box myself into one genre.

Food, I like cooking for other people and I eat way too much chocolate.

The six things I could never do without Propose an edit

My son, my camera, my art stuff, my family, my friends and a travelcard of sorts.

On a typical Friday night I am Propose an edit

Indoors, sometimes with pizza, spending time with my boy, that sort of thing. I dont really have a social life in the typical sense, I dont go to the pub unless its for dinner or something, I just dont have that kind of available time. I'm really busy with the art stuff and of course being with my son all the time, we go and do other things or on Saturdays we have plans, that kind of thing. Saying that, if you want to ask me out on a Friday night I can totally arrange a sitter, its not a problem!

The most private thing I'm willing to admit here Propose an edit

I am OCD in lots of ways, but not in the washing hands and switching lights off ways, it doesnt affect every day life but there are some little niggles which are vital to me. You can ask me about it, I dont mind. I think its pretty important to be aware of though.

.. you're single. And I mean SINGLE. Dont think im going to be all forgiving if you have a well prepared sob story about how she doesnt understand you, or if she lives miles away, or if you're *thinking* of finishing with her and lining me up ready, just dont get me involved!

Also if you can understand that im really a very busy person and that I will do my best to find as much time as possible for you and are willing to help me out a bit by being patient with that, then thats extra brownie points already :)
