My name's Michael. I moved to Los Angeles from New York about six years ago for an internship working in theme park design and never left. In my spare time I play poker and dodgeball and occasionally write music.

I pride myself at being pretty good at a lot of random things. I enjoy writing (nearly pursued a career in this), film making, video editing/compositing, poker, dodgeball, weightlifting and snowboarding.

My smile. The fact that I look younger than I am and that I can be a tiny bit quiet and guarded at first, but I quickly open up.

My favorite author is probably Haruki Murakami (The Wind Up Bird Chronicle, Kafka on the Shore, many others)... though my biggest guilty pleasures are the Harry Potter books and the Hunger Games.

I tend to enjoy quirky comedies--films by Wes Anderson (Rushmore, The Life Aquatic) and films written by Charlie Kaufman (Human Nature, Adaptation, The Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind). I also love earlier Tim Burton (Beetlejuice, Edward Scissorhands) and 80's fantasy (Labyrinth, The Neverending Story).

I don't watch a lot of TV, these days... but my favorite shows from the past include Veronica Mars, Star Trek the Next Generation, Lost, and House. Recently I've been working my way through the new Doctor Who series.

As far as music goes, I enjoy everything from alternative rock/indie to glam, psychedelic, hip hop, and calypso. My favorite artist of all time is David Bowie.

Food-wise, I love just about everything. Especially love Mexican, Japanese, Chinese, Thai, Italian and Caribbean/South American.
