My self-summary
Friends already call me "the Dad" and gay buddies say I'm the "born husband". Clearly I have fooled everyone with my facade of sensibility and deep-thinking mystique. I don't mind this.

I'm a bit sinister, deep down, but its only because I aspire to great things. Of course, I'm looking for a partner in crime who will rise with me. If in reading that just now you thought "awwww, he's looking for a long-term partner, he's thinking for the long term, that is so endearing and hot" then you should certainly message me right away. If however, in reading that, you saw only a double entendre, then you should also message me, because I certainly meant it that way too. That's just how it is. And if you can pronounce "double entendre" in proper french, I mean you should really just come straight to my apartment for Cotes du Rhone and steak frites. Pancakes in the morning.

At heart I'm an intellectual. I'm a deep thinker and know I overthink things at my expense, but it gets me through the day. My ideal guy is someone who will converse about anything, is willing to learn from me, and wants to teach me his passions. If you have a little bit of a dorky side, we'll certainly get along well. I want someone who keeps me on my toes. Snoring is for early Sunday morning; curiosity drives life forward.

I'm also fairly independent and am attracted to the same.

Life lived to the fullest, I think, is a balancing act. My philosophy is that if you go out and party til dawn on Friday, you don't do the same on Saturday. It's probably more interesting to drive out to the mountains or stay in and watch a new movie that second night. There's a rich array of experiences to be had, and I want to try them all. Well, not ALL... Okay, maybe all, and to hell with the penal code. No not penile code. Or that other code. But just in case, left pocket, blue. Usually.

I'm looking for some companionship with someone who shares some of my likes, including: travel, good food and drink (and cooking), politics and current events, pop culture, the arts (including art museums, opera, theater, and broadway), driving, biking, hiking, swimming, skiing, computers, games, movies, dancing and clubbing, and yes, gardening. I recognize that life can be an adventure, with a little effort, and it's an adventure best shared. Half the fun of doing anything is when you can finally say "remember the time when...."

I haven't got the whole world figured out yet, but maybe I'm getting close. Let's exchange notes and fuck up the curve for everyone else.

I am curious, witty, and whimsical
What I’m doing with my life
Living in the Village, working for a think-tankesque management counsltancy firm in Manhattan that does trend forecasting. In essence, predicting the future.
I’m really good at
Writing, gestalt thinking, cheesy humor, cooking, navigation, and figuring people out but pretending like I don't get them. For shits and giggles, ya know?

The six things I could never do without
Travel/adventure, conversation partners, spicy food, ice cream sundaes, nature, and The City.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Politics, civil rights, globalization and its discontents, new technology, society and culture, movies, travel, guys.
On a typical Friday night I am
Out in New York City. Or road tripping somewhere.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I can be fairly type-A, but I detest making the first move.

  • Guys who like guys
  • Ages 23–34
  • Near me
  • Who are single
  • For new friends, long-term dating, short-term dating, activity partners
