My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
28 year old, half japanese, half jewish, restaurant manager, amateur pastry chef, serious runner, beer lover, adventure seeker, and piano player.

The question I've been thinking about more often is "what should I do next?" Big city? Culinary school? Nomadic travels? Open an ice cream shop? The answer has been eluding me, most likely because change can seem scary at times. But feeling suspended in mid-air isn't great either. Still trying to figure out what I want. In the meantime, I'm trying to be bold and adventurous as often as inspiration strikes.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
At the moment: managing a fine dining restaurant at Farmington Country Club, running as far/fast/often as possible, and cooking/baking like crazy.

BUT! I'm aspiring to be a pastry chef in a trendy big city bakery someday! I especially love coming up with deliciously insane ice cream flavors like 'curried pineapple', 'chocolate chili cherry', or 'white miso and jasmine'.

Food is an obsession for me. I read cookbooks for fun and seriously considered listing grocery shopping as a favorite. I love being in the kitchen with music, a beer or glass of red wine, and my imagination. I try to be as adventurous as I possibly can - i.e. infusing chocolate ice cream with rosemary.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Baking/Cooking - ice cream is my specialty but I also enjoy experimenting with healthy vegetarian foods.

Running - I'm about 97% sure I can run faster and farther than you.

Playing the piano - one of my secret weapons.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
How thin I am from running like a maniac and my increasingly abundant white hairs from being half Asian.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
Books: Tony Kushner's 'Angels in America', Michael Cunningham's 'Flesh and Blood'

Movies: The Hours, Angels in America (again), and... I kind of hate picking favorites! There are too many great movies in the world. I like seeing new ones more than remembering how great old faves are. Life of Pi was a recent favorite.

Shows: So You Think You Can Dance, Six Feet Under, Parks and Recreation, Modern Family, New Girl...

Food: Chickpeas, greek yogurt, pumpkin, fresh figs, mango, pineapple, ginger, Japanese rice crackers, cereal, mushrooms, ricotta cheese, pistachios, dark or white but not milk chocolate.

Drink: coffee (hot, iced, or in macchiatto form) and craft beer.

Other: I really love flowers and Japanese maple trees, poetry/prose, crossword puzzles, cats, driving in the country, night running, and proper punctuation!
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
1. Friends and family
2. Technology
3. Kitchen with gadgets and gizmos - an expensive habit.
4. The piano - my drug of choice.
5. Running - without it, I'm pretty sure my heart would break.
6. Food - discovering flavor is exciting!
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
My next ice cream or sorbet flavor and what I'm going to do with my future.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Working and then maybe having a drink with some good friends.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
When no one is home, I sometimes cook and bake sans clothes...
