I am honest, loyal, and cynical.
My Self-Summary
This was a kind of outdated so here I am again, getting everything
current. I am have been living in Austin for about a year and a
half. I work for a software company doing tech support. Good job,
good pay, great benefits, but boring as hell most of the time. I
spent most of my day reading random news articles or watching
videos online. One benefit to the boredom is that I get time to
work on my homework.
Just started school again this month working towards a Surgery Tech
degree. I already have about 50 credit hours behind me but they are
mostly worthless since I changed majors.
I enjoy spending time with friends, reading, hanging out, just
about anything that is not too crazy or involves hundreds of
people(not really a people person). Over the last year I have
enjoyed talking to people much more often than I used to. I guess
you could say that I am getting better at "small talk" with people
who I don't know.
I have two kids, a son and a daughter, who do not live with me -
long story, ask if you want to know.
What I’m doing with my life
Mainly working and just living life. Starting school, should be
done in about 2 years. Guess that's what I get for slacking off
when I was younger. I work full time and get bored at home quite
often but I don't really enjoy going out all the time like I used
to. It is fun once in a while, but its just too tiring and
expensive to do on a regular basis. Not to mention that my roommate
never wants to go out, so finding people to get out and about would
be great.
I’m really good at
Anything that involves logic. Listening to and reading people.
Learning comes very easy to me. Decent with computers and
technology. My brothers got art and music, I got common sense.
The first things people usually notice about me
I am typically very quiet at first, not because I am shy but
because I like to get a feel for people and decide if I want to
have anything to do with them. It is amazing what you can learn
about someone in just a few minutes of watching and listening. I
can enjoy a conversation with just about anyone. I am comfortable
in most settings. It can take some time for me to open up to new
people but once I do I will trust them until they give me reason
not to.
My favorite books, movies, music, and food
Books: Anything by Tom Clancy or R.A. Salvatore. I also enjoy
psychology and
medical related works. I have been reading Robert Jordan over the
last couple months as well.
Movies: Those are all over the place; action, comedy, some drama,
very little horror but it can be ok.
Music: Again, just about everything. Favorites are rock, punk,
metal, and some electronic. Can deal with some rap and
country(especially older stuff). As for bands:
Fair to Midland,
Fightstar,
Pendulum, Foo Fighters,
Strung Out,
Dieselboy, and
the list goes on... Recently been listening to the
Devin Townsend
Project.
Food: Japanese and Chinese are my favorite, with Mexican close
behind. I am always up for trying new food. As long as it is not
shellfish, I am allergic so it would probably kill me.
TV: House, Lie to Me, Scrubs, Horns football, UFC, Criminal Minds,
just about any Soccer or Tennis, the first 5 minutes of all of the
horrible Sci-Fi channel made-for-tv movies(the level of
ridiculousness on those movies is amazing).
The six things I could never do without
Computer, cell phone, friends, days off, conversation, and...
cheese?
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Ways to distract myself from the stress of work and the drama of
life. Pondering random worthless crap is fun too. I like figuring
out how things work; mainly electronics and especially people.
On a typical Friday night I am
Not doing much. I have class on Saturday morning so I don't stay
out too late. Most of my friends all work together elsewhere so
they do their work get-together things on Fridays. When I do get
out, it is usually to a dive bar or pool hall. I have never enjoyed
clubs or yuppie bars. I am always down for a good show or event.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit here
I have trouble opening up to people but I am working on it. I also
have a Polly Pocket on my desk at work; she is my work mascot,
keeps me in line. I have a Yoshi and a rubber pig on my desk now
too, the mascots are multiplying.
