This is a first for me. An expanding-my-horizons sort of thing. I love life and I'm trying to experience as much of it as I can. I love:

Whiskey (I'm not a beer fan, unless it's Guiness from the tap)

Learning about this incredible place I'm lucky to by chance, inhabit.

I'm currently studying English/Secondary Ed. My plan is to teach. I took several years after high school to do some, for lack of a better explaination, "soul searching." During that time I experienced some very horrifying things and found myself in an awful place both emotionally and physically. I've clawed and fought my way out of that life; Im happy to say that it made me stronger and a better man. Though it was hell I wouldn't change the path I took because I wouldn't be the man Iam today without having lived that.

I want to teach because I think if an educator acts as a strong mentor and shows that learning doesn't have to be boring that they can help turn the tide in a young person's life. If I can share my story and steer even one kid away from the pain I experienced as a result of my poor choices then that will have made my entire career worth it.

I'm writing, a lot. Because who isn't working on a novel these days? I've been working with some friends of mine to get a new magazine as well. It's a fashion/art/culture oriented publication and we're now finishing up our Feb. issue.

TV: bugs me for the most part but I really love Nat Geo, through the wormhole with Morgan Freeman, frontline, nova, californication (though I haven't seen it in at least two years) and I'm embarrassed to admit this; but the I found the first season of New Girl to be moderately hilarious, so far I've been disappointed with what I've seen this season

Bands: black flag, minor threat, Lucero, bright eyes, murder by death, waxwIng, rocky votolato, it prevails, bane, hundredth, counterparts, youth of today, liferuiner, more than life, modern life is war, champion, defeater, with the punches, fireworks... so much more

I think my favorite modern film at this time is an impossible-to-determine-a-winner kind of tie between There Will Be Blood, Paris At Midnight (oddly enough considering I normally loathe Owen Wilson) or The Proposition
Classic film, hands down is Citizen Kane

"Typical" is not in my Friday vocabulary.

I always had shaggy, unkept hair that I didn't mess with; but now I spend probablya cumulative daily average of 15 mins on it (not all at once, mind you; but fixing it throughout the day. And 15 mins isa TON for a guy in my opinion.)

I also get really turned on when a girl knows how to effectively curse. This isn't a requirement by any means, just a huge turn-on.
