I'm a life long New Yorker who grew up in Queens and recently settled in Brooklyn, where I feel like an expat...

I'm half German and half Columbian (I speak German conversationally, but not an iota of Spanish).

I have a pointless masters degree in political theory.

I work at an organization that analyzes government finances during the week, and on weekends I work at a city agency in Brooklyn.

I'm very laid back but restless when I'm alone; I constantly feel the need to socialize.

I'm intelligent, engaging, and I'd like to be with someone who's curious about lots of things. I really, really dig curiosity...

I walk excessively. I mean, really excessively. 3 to 4 hour long walks in the summer is common.

I like to use well placed curses in the course of conversation - someone who does this well is an artist.

lots, and lots, and lots of work. Trying to teach myself javascript.

I'm more of a jack of all trades kind of guy. I'm pretty good at the Monday-Wednesday NYT crossword. Sometimes the Thursday one on a good day.

reading books in crowded bars and not getting distracted.

I'm pretty gregarious, so people warm up to me quickly. I guess that would have to be the first intangible thing they would notice about me.

Books: Umm, lots, but a few that come to mind are Cormac McCarthy's Blood Meridian, Russel Banks' The Darling, John Fowles' The Magus, Mila Kundera's The Unbearable Lightness of Being, and Michael Chabon's Yiddish Policeman's Union/The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier & Clay. Recently finished Diaz's The Wonderous Life of Oscar Wao. Halfway i was asking why this won the pulitzer, but by the end i realized he deserved it.

Movies: no real preference. I like watching the occasional documentary, love a good horror film but I'm usually let down, also love sci-fi and fantasy

Shows: Arrested Development, Battlestar Galactica, The Wire, Parks and Rec, The Killing, Downton Abbey... you get the drift, I dig TV shows.

Music: constantly evolving taste. Right now I'm big into The Kills, Punch Brothers, Handsome Furs (pretty much every spencer krug project), and Metric.

Sports matter: Huge Knicks and Mets fan. Big into international soccer and the major cups. Will always root for USA and Germany, and when it's between the two of them I'll want USA to win (but at the end of that match I would always win).

not sure. I do know that if I forget my book or magazine during my commute I go crazy

Drinking. Like everyone else here.

Sometimes I'll try to use my house keys at the subway turnstile, and sometimes I'll try to use my metrocard at my front door. Has this ever happened to anyone else??
