Isn't the whole point of answering 100 random questions to avoid writing a "self-summary"?

I've been teaching middle school English for the last 6 years, but I'm starting a PhD in Educational Psychology at the University of Texas in the fall. So if you are looking for a girl to be with for the rest of your life, I'm probably not the one. But I'm in Boston another 6 months and that doesn't mean I can't meet cool new people, right?

Listening. It's what I like most about teaching. And I like to think I'm pretty funny, although I was rejected from a college improv group when I was a freshman.

Supposedly I smile a lot. I've never really noticed, but I don't know how I could notice. And I have great teeth.

Music: I'm really into the local scene around Cambridge and Somerville. I love going to any show, be it folk, Americana/bluegrass, rock, comedy, hip hop, literally anything I can buy a ticket to. I play a little too. Other favs include The Decemberists, The Weakerthans, Josh Ritter, Sam Cooke, Ray Charles, Say Anything, and lots of random (and embarassing) stuff.

Movies: I used to be a movie snob but these days I watch what's streaming on Netflix. My all-time favorites are Once, Hedwig and the Angry Inch, Role Models, and Mean Girls.

Food: Buffalo chicken anything.

Books: I tend to like everything I read. Books I've hated may be more interesting. The least enjoyable books that come to mind are Lord Jim by Joseph Conrad Rings of Saturn by Sebald. Currently reading about 5 different books. I have random taste. And honestly, reading is not my #1 favorite thing. It's probably my #12 favorite, but that's still pretty good.

...what I call "running fantasies." When I run, I come up with elaborate schemes that usually end with me being invited either on stage at a show or to be a guest on a talk show.

Casual dinner with friends I guess? Or drinks at the pub.

I once watched an entire season of "Dexter" in one weekend.
