My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
INITIAL NOTE: This profile is getting revamped very shortly to replace the 1% of it that is now irrelevant thanks to no longer being a jumping spider and temporarily hiding in a Perthshire glen. However, in the meantime...

Hello. I am Callum, a smiley and thoughtful individual of the gentle giant species.

Water is my role model. Waterfalls are some of my favourite things of all. If I see one, I may run at it and possibly into it. I like it when the sun is out making playful shadows, and when things hide us from it and pour water down on us all.

My favourite quote about love was said by an ancient conqueror. Armour and old words fascinate me. I like to be kind and honest because it pleases me and not because it said to in a book.

The world is just too weird and vast to stop asking questions. So, I keep an open, unjudging mind and seek out all the silver linings as well as the bismuth and malachite ones. Sometimes I try to distill them into words or sound.

I once had a great mane of auburn hair, but it’s gone now... Though strong support from certain sectors could encourage its return.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Well, after going to university in Aberdeen to do Math's and Physics, the great ocean of possibility threw me a window to move to Edinburgh and study Tai Chi under my master. True story!

I wish to write books. There are a few stories that I’d like to tell.

I do Tai Chi. It keeps me healthy and happy. You’ve seen the slowly waving hands around, but might have missed the swinging two types of sword around and the think-fast self-defence drills.

I work as a late-evening jumping spider for an unusual-foods store.

Between surviving and aspiring, I like to cook, read, draw the images I write about, play guitar, watch the odd film or series episode, listen to lots of music, find out new things, get out and take jaunts around places, and have fun with the good people in my life.

So far, Edinburgh has been an adventure, so I think I will stick around!
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
I often appreciate a story or a message whatever medium it is presented in, but my favourite writers are Hannu Rajaniemi, David Eagleman, Mark Rosenfelder, Ciaron O Dochartaigh, Dan Docherty and David Eddings. George R.R. Martin and China Mieville are likely to be added.

My favourite shows and films are usually gritty, challenging in some way, funny, or containing something unusual, fantastic or slipstream. Game of Thrones, Rome, Family Guy, Frasier, Blackadder, Peep Show jump out for shows, but films are a way wider field of discussion. As is food.

My favourite music is led by a strong or unusual melody. I have unforgivably weird taste and have a lot to say on the subject of music. I apologise in advance. Some favourites include: Cynic, Gary Numan, Periphery, Boards of Canada, Allan Holdsworth, Nobuo Uematsu, Massive Attack, Nervous Testpilot, Meshuggah, Exivious.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Something to be curious about.
Good company.
My sabre Heilang, since this is pretty much a desert island list - there may be cannibals!
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Come and find out!
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
...enjoying not being a jumping spider.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
Did you know that ‘guacamole’ comes from the Nahuatl for ‘testicle sauce’?
You should message me if
Offer a few tips to help matches win you over.
As wiseman say, "one person’s cheesecake is another’s guacamole."

You are cordially invited to say hello if you feel we could be mutual cheesecake, perhaps guacamole cheesecake, and if you would be interested in seeing whether we make a good team for seeking out the silver linings mentioned above.

NB: You needn't actually like cheesecake or guacamole. Substitute for an improved metaphorical experience.
