My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
hmm, don't even know where to begin....
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
i moved back to the US a little over five years ago to take up a job at UNC-chapel hill. i have now relocated to cincinnati, where i am a professor at a nearby university. still wondering if i should have stayed put on the other side of the atlantic. don't get me wrong, there are many things that i love about the university scene in the US....i've just lived abroad often and miss europe...a lot!

i love to teach and am excited i'm FINALLY getting to do more of it with my new job. this semester, i'm working with a group of youngsters exploring comparative politics and trying to teach them how to write.

i also love to travel and, thankfully, get to do a lot of it for my job and my research. most recent new adventures were hiking in corsica, exploring the wine country in portugal and soaking in the sun in culebra...all beautiful! next trip is to amsterdam, where i lived for several years. looking forward to going back and combining work with catching up with old friends.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
going with the flow...especially when traveling
debating/arguing (depending on how you view it)
genuinely seeing the best in others

music: bob dylan; tori amos; jonny cash; bebel gilberto; the rolling stones; ben folds; gillian welsh; madonna; james taylor; lucinda williams; willy nelson; janis ian...i guess i like a little of everything but as my list reveals, my favs are in the folk genre....

food: anything goes....the spicier, the better!
