I am still pondering, interesting, and witty adjectives.

My Self-Summary

I'm not terribly good at these large general self-overviews, so check the stuff below for the real scoop.

What I’m doing with my life

I am an organizer for a national non-profit that works to mobilize and empower young people (18-29) around climate change issues. I volunteer frequently with a youth civic engagement org in town, and spend a lot of energy workin in social justice and progressive political shtuff.

...that and growing up.

I’m really good at

Hmmm...
Good hard skills include graphic design and copy editing...not very interesting. I'm best at pursuing my passions, fighting for the things I care for, getting other folks excited and riled up, making people for comfortable and loved, entertaining, making good party mixes, painting, throwing together delicious dinners with few ingredients, fillin my days with endless wonder...

The first things people usually notice about me

that i'm pretty tall. then usually my shoes.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

Oof, I don't really do favorites...but here is a brief and random sampling of a few things I rather enjoy:

• • • york mint patties • aretha franklin • anything with cheese • the sopranos • writing by bell hooks • the pointer sisters • juice • l-word • diane birch • keeping the faith • lykke li • santigold • fringe • writing by tim wise • • •

The six things I could never do without

why six?

I spend a lot of time thinking about

• social justice - issues of gender, race, class and how to get us to a place of just and equal respect

• how I can live in as many places as possible

• music, movies, art, etc...how I wish I participated more in them, how grateful I am whenever I get to experience them, how on earth people make such creative magic with their minds, hands, mouths, etc.

• the most direct path to get where I'm going. Literally - not in terms of life journeying. Like how to get from one block to the next in as straight a line as possible.

• my family and my beautiful friends - their woes and passions and pursuits

• what to make for dinner
• how to be the most useful positive person I can be, both for the world and myself.

On a typical Friday night I am

throwin back beers with a few good friends at someone's house, spontaneous dance parties, late night bike rides, possibly catchin music or an outdoor movie, cuddling in my pillow-laden uber comfy bed, catching up on blogs...or otherwise futzing around exploring my youthful freedom.

You should message me if

you ain't off your rocker, you give a damn bout the world around you, and you appreciate seriousness with a side of goof...and you have something interesting to say.
