Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
If I were to describe myself, I suppose the first thing that comes
to mind is a creative type who needs to spend more time doing just
I'm a writer who has just started dabbling in acting and spend my
free moments typing, watching, reading, and playing.
My passions in life are movies, manga, and games (board, rpgs, CAH,
whatever)... though I've always wanted to learn to cook. I mean,
REALLY cook, not just pour and stir meals.
I've written two novels in the past two years (Woo! NaNoWriMo!) and
aim to do another this year and every year thereafter until I die
(or become rich, famous, and thoroughly idle).
I've been on a fitness kick the past year and spend my mornings,
six days a week before work, at the college gym. On top of that,
when it's warm, I bike commute to get some fresh air (and extra
I'm looking for someone just as creative and weird who maybe likes
some of the same things but is just different enough that we keep
each other on our toes (but can still relax together, too). Do you
fit that playbill?
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I work in public radio and spend my free time gaming and writing
and acting (the latter of which is VERY new, but fun).
It's nifty just trying something new to expand my horizons. :)
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
...writing. I think. They say you're your own worst critic and I
both love and hate to read my drafts. Still, I think I'm pretty
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
My long hair and beard...
...or my hat and coat?
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food

What is there to say? I'm a big fan of literature and music.
Books-wise, when I'm reading for pleasure it's mainly
fantasy/sci-fi or manga. My current favorite book is too hard to
decide, but probably high on the list is Laughable Loves by Milan
Kundera (which makes me sad) right next to The Sandman series by
Neil Gaiman. Ready Player One pretty much explains the inner
workings of my brain. My guilty pleasure books are The Dresden
For music, primarily jazz for work (bebop mainly... I can't abide
80's synth-jazz) and industrial/techno for fun. If I were to name a
favorite band, I'd have to say NIN... a close second and third
would be Daft Punk and Gorillaz.
Favorite movie? Millenium Actress by Saotoshi Kon (R.I.P.). Super 8
is a close second, almost tying with it. I'm a huge fan of MST3k
and Rifftrax. Most nights I fall asleep to a random assortment of
their takes on educational shorts from the 50's, 60's, and 70's.
The majority of my collection are old fashioned transfers, but I'm
trying to collect the box sets as they come out.
If you like anime at all, I heartily recommend a show called
Hyouka. Last I checked, it wasn't out in America yet, but it's well
worth the effort of tracking down.
Did I mention I love Sadie's Salsa? I hear there's a new Sadie's at
a casino in Bernalillo. Would that they would come farther north.
My guilty pleasure food is Chick-fil-a. I hate their politics, but
LOVE their chicken. Also, Skyline Chili. It's a miracle they
haven't migrated outside of the Cincy area or I would be a whale.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Manga, Reddit, the world of fiction, a casual dress code, good
music and... well, cheesily enough... hope.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
...living by the ocean.
I live in the desert, but long for the sea... hoping some day to
live in a small cottage (with enough room for all my books) on the
central or northern coast. I don't how long it will take to get
there or if my need for it will wither when I do, but I hope it
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Depends on what week it is... I help the local college run video
game tourneys most friday nights, with the occasional movie thrown
in for good measure.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I wrote terrible poetry in high school math on the blackboard... it
started randomly, but then kept going in order to impress a girl in
another class. Ah, youth~
