My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I'm a dreamer, an old soul, introverted but not shy. I am happy and lucky. My life is kept pretty simple- I work with kids, do a lot of yoga, and am getting back to ballet after injuries kept me out of the studio for a while.
I'm always trying to read a good book- currently working on "Women as Lovers" by Elfriede Jelinek. I love the opera and the ballet, and am looking forward to taking the train up to Ravinia this summer. There is usually a tattered copy of the New Yorker in my purse (how quickly they tatter!) I always read the comics first.
I believe that there is never better than here, but it would be nice to be here with a beloved. So here I am.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
My weeks are busy with diverse interests. Physical activity is important to me, although perhaps less for its effect on the body than on the mind. Many of my evenings are spent in the Bikram or Kundalini studio, and maybe one of these days I will lace up my running shoes and test out my knees.
My karmic path is important to me, and I consider my spirit and my energy. I meditate. Some of my beliefs might make you roll your eyes. That's okay, but if you aren't open minded about such things we might not be the best match.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
I am usually successful at focusing on the positive, having an open heart and mind, and challenging myself to learn new things. I make decisions with my heart, and tend to be more emotional than logical.
I'll read your body language and energy pretty accurately.
I'd like to think I'm good at the important things.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
Hopefully a sense of warmth, but it might instead be my often messy hair!
And yeah, I am lucky enough to look younger than my age. Or at least I am lucky enough to believe the flattery.

The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
I've lived with what I can carry in a backpack for months at a time, and every time thought I overpacked. And no, I didn't bring my iPhone.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
What the next phase in my life will look like. I've lived this part well, learned what I need to learn, so what now? And what's the hesitation?
Too much for an OkCupid profile?
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
It depends. Often after a long week I am happy to clear my head with some yoga. Then again, it often doesn't take much to convince me to put on a pair of heels and have a glass of wine or two. At this point, my days of being out at the bars until the wee hours are (mostly) done.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
There is a polarity in me. I like dichotomy.

Offer a few tips to help matches win you over.
You want to tell me something vulnerable, something messy, something beautiful, something real. You don't think you have it figured out, but you are trying. You might want a beautiful story with me, be it two weeks or two months or two years. Maybe even for a lifetime, but probably not. And be passionate. Yeah, in that way, but in other ways too...
Or maybe you want to recommend a great book. (Please read them.) Or a poem or a song or movie. Those would work too.
And no Republicans. Seriously. (You will not be the exception.)
