My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I'm a genuine and respectful guy. I have a good head on my shoulders and make a sincere effort to be open and honest. I like to think about life and people. I want to understand and experience as much as I can while I'm alive.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Trying to sort it out. Things are changing quickly and I haven't yet figured out how I want to change with them. I want to be able to watch the flowers grow in my garden while also being able to pay the bills that let me have a garden.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Contra dancing. Software development. Being a genuine, honest, and relaxed person. Listening, thinking, connecting and understanding. Being goofy, creative, smart and funny. Knowing way too much about Star Trek. Memorizing ridiculous Monty Python skits.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
My voice is high pitched. I've had people insist it was fake. I dunno why it is the way it is, but there isn't much I can do about it. One summer, I tried to force my voice to be lower. But I stopped when I realized I no longer felt like "me".
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food

Books. I don't read a lot. But of the books I've read lately, I was a big fan of "The New Earth". Yes, it's a new agey "Oprah club" book. And yes, some of it is overly hokey. But it's a great look at the ego and it's effect on the human psyche. I also really liked Ringworld, The Hitchhiker's Guide, Contact, and 2001. (Yes, the books.)

Movies. I like all kinds of movies. Barbarella, 2001, Baraka and The Matrix come to mind as some favorites. Also Starship Troopers and Fight Club. Stranger than Fiction, Totoro, Scott Pilgrim. Art films like My Dinner With Andre. I also like silly films like The Waterboy and Zoolander. Probably many more.

Music. Let's see: Cocteau Twins, REM, Dead Can Dance, Ulrich Schnauss, gel sol, Harold Budd. Anyone on here ever heard of Dif Juz or Swallow? I generally like ambient and/or meditative music. I also made a little music of my own "back in the day".

Food. Good god, just about everything. Chocolate, mushrooms, cilantro. My love of food is the reason I'm not a vegetarian. I tried once. I am incapable of doing it, but it gave me the greatest respect for anyone who can pull it off.

Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.

On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Sometimes contra dancing. Sometimes napping. Sometimes browsing the internets. Sometimes watching a movie. Sometimes hanging out with friends.
