My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I am: Blunt, perceptive, intellectually curious, occasionally dandyish, hard-working, and a little vain. Driven by culture, politics, ideas, experiences. Love a good conversation, especially over drinks after the movie or the play or the opening. I'll do karaoke at the drop of a hat.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I do tech, and I write. I like both, so I consider myself fortunate when it comes to work and self-actualization and all that. Most of my career kvetching is behind me, thank God. (It was a little boring.)

Staying open to New York and all its charms. Looking for the next experience to absorb and be changed by. Ending sentence fragments with prepositions, apparently.

Hm, maybe that I'm tall for an Asian guy? I've also been told occasionally that I have a nice speaking voice.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food

Movies: Michael Clayton, Fish Tank, Mulholland Dr, The Fountain, Kill List. Recently loved Enough Said, Her, and (ahem) Dawn of the Planet of the Apes.

Books: The Flame Alphabet, Housekeeping, The Satanic Verses, The Bloody Chamber, About a Boy, American Psycho, Alan Moore's Swamp Thing run. Currently re-reading Moby Dick, and at this rate I'll be done in about five years.

Music: Adele, James Blake, Sleater-Kinney, Pulp, Frank Ocean, Active Child. Animals as Leaders, even though all my metalhead friends seem to think they're wanky prog shit. I've seen Prince play at Paisley Park, and I've been in the mosh pit at Lightning Bolt shows.

TV: The standard set of high-end cable shows (Breaking Bad, Mad Men, Masters of Sex). Bob's Burgers. Hannibal is a guilty pleasure -- it's not exactly a good show, but it sure is enthusiastic.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
When my magazine subscriptions will expire. Race relations. Indie film. Whether I can make it to SoulCycle. Tech startups: The search for traction, the organizational experimentation, the diversity issues. My family. Whether it's time to suck it up and re-organize the apps on my phone. National and global wealth disparity. My wardrobe.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
One day, I'll be the singer in a wedding band that does R&B and soul songs, and my life will be complete.
