I am perky, quirky, and devoted.
My Self-Summary
Dear God & Any Other Potential Readers: Please, for the love of
all things sane and sacred, please READ MY PROFILE BEFORE
MESSAGING. I am currently not, have no future plan to be and will
not be convinced or talked into a casual encounter with anyone, no
matter how amazing, sexy or hot he is. Period. I'm getting quite
tired of having to preempt a conversation with this statement,
especially when it's posted all over this profile. Maybe most
people just don't read. Sigh.
Okay, well now that I've probably frightened away most of the
interested audience, on to the better stuff. I've got a very
enigmatic, deep and often overwhelming personality, mostly due to
the fact that I think in extremely introspective ways.
Despite the depth, I harbor passionate reverance for all things
silly and gleeful and am usually bubbly, and perky. I have a true
love of the silly, child-like pleasures and love anything
out-doorsy that contributes to giddy feelings of fun-loving glee. I
love to frolick in meadows of wildflowers, chase crabs in the sand
and gleefully scatter dirt over the unsuspecting ankles of a friend
while playing in the dirt with a shovel and pail. Alas though,
recent experiences have left me feeling somewhat jaded, guarded and
on the defensive. Most people will see the walls before anything
else, which I prefer.
I have self-proclaimed my list of hobbies and interests as nothing
short of exhaustive and expansive. It includes any and all things
related to the arts and music, especially that which moves me
spiritually, emotionally and intellectually. I love to sew, draw,
paint, costume, garden, play outside, scrapbook, rp, read,
cook/bake, and too many other things to list. Fascinations &
obsessions include anything and everything Irish (especially
culture, dance, mythology & music), Rennaissance costuming,
vampires, tragic romance, poetry & children's lit, musicals,
mythology, Tolkien and probably quite a bit more. Again, there's
ALOT to me.
And on to relationship stuff. I am rather particular in what I
currently seek, so any possible interest should keep the following
in mind prior to sending a message: Friendship is the first step
and getting to know someone takes time to establish trust. I am not
a fan of internet dating and therefore see this site as simply a
segway into real contact and communication. I have no intention of
beginning any internet-based relationship with a perfect stranger,
no matter how many opportunities for chat or phone call. My
comprehensive hope from this site remains fixed on developing some
friendships that may lead to LASTING & COMMITTED relationship
possibilities with ONE person. One devoted, loving, committed guy
is what I hope to eventually find.
** Please also NOTE my DEAL-BREAKERS (ie, things I AM NOT
INTERESTED IN).
I am NOT Interested in the following:
1. a casual fling, a three-some, a side relationship with someone
already seeing someone
2. married/involved men (isn't that a given?) - this also includes
men who are listed as single, but are secretly still married (This
is somewhat offensive, honestly)
3. if you don't want a woman with kids (I have one, so..this is
obviously a deal-breaker)
4. drama or games (my life is hectic enough without this)
5. long distance relationships (I've done it, it sucks..not
planning to do it again). This includes men in India and other
foreign countries. I am not interested. This kind of expressed
interest usually makes me feel very defensive..so please don't
message.
6. Anything overtly sexual, graphic or in the manner of 'I'm in
love with you' will freak me out. Gentle words and friendship are
the keys to my interest. You will scare me away with anything
hardcore or intense. This includes things like (I like u..we should
be together..etc). How can you like someone without even knowing
them?
7. Drugs of any kind and heavy drinking/partying
8. Guys who don't take care of themselves. I do, and I'd like a
potential partner to love himself enough to care about his life,
career, health, etc. Healthy lifestyles are highly preferred.
What I’m doing with my life
I'm up to my eyeballs with things that my life encompasses right
now. It's definitely busy, although it's a warm, wonderful
busy.
1. I am currently a middle school Reading/L.A. teacher at a private
school for kids with special needs. I'd like to eventually complete
my grad work and attain a PHD in some aspect of education.
2. My primary focus is of course, my beautiful little boy, who I am
raising on my own. Anyone who enters into that mix will absolutely
have to love children. The ideal partner will either have children
as well or want to build a family in the future.
3. My most pervasive effort has been spent bettering my life (as
well as my son's) by developing a healthier lifestyle. I have lost
about 120 pounds, dropped 8 pant-sizes and have just recently
(finally!) hit a healthy BMI. I exercise regularly and hope to
eventually partake of a gym membership. My most recent fitness
endeavor involves (hopefully) enrolling in an Irish step dance
class as soon as funds afford such luxury. Thus, and very sadly, my
pictures are currently outdated.
I’m really good at
frolicking & splashing in puddles, laughing at silly nonsense,
twirling gleefully, and losing myself in any romantic and artistic
endeavor. I lavish attention on enjoying the silly things, delving
into romance, daydreaming and allowing thoughts to drift into
fantasy and wishes. I also overwhelm people quite easily with the
depth of my thoughts. :)
The first things people usually notice about me
Probably my green eyes :)
My favorite books, movies, music, and food
I love just about any genre of text, although especially love
fantasy, romance, poetry and children's literature. I grew up
loving the Newberry Award winners and still enjoy purusing the
newest editions. So much can be gleaned from a children's book.
Favs include: Harry Potter, Wrinkle in Time, The Hobbit, the
Twilight series, Vampire Diaries, LoTR, anything by Shel
Silverstein, Dr. Seuss and E.E. Cummings, too many more to
list.
Movies follow similar suit, including fantasy, romantic comedies
and adventure. Favorites include: The Saint, Someone Like You,
LoTR, Legend, Interview with the Vampire, Underworld, Superman,
Spongebob and way too many more to list. Sadly, I don't have time
to watch many movies.
I've got a passion for music and began college with a major in it
at FSU. My awe for ethnic music began there and I love Indian,
Balinese and Irish specifically. I am a classically trained
musician and therefore have an extremely eclectic taste in music.
Other fav music genre's include: classic rock, alternative, folk,
classical, broadway/musicals, some opera, madrigals/chamber music,
new-age, hip-hop, reggae, some metal, some goth, limited rap, pop,
punk, etc. There is very few music I don't like and the selection
of the day varies by mood. Favorite bands/artists include: U2,
Coldplay, Rasputina, Smashing Pumpkins, Dave Matthews, Pentangle,
Journey, King Singers, Sarah Brightman, Sarah McLaughlin, Loreena
McKennitt, Elliot Smith, Gaelic Storm, Great Big Sea, too many
others to name. I love music that alters my mood; listening to
music is a very spiritual experience for me. :)
As far as food, there isn't too much that I don't like, aside from
spicey food (not a huge fan of mexican) or fast food. I've been
trying to eat more organic, natural food and prefer quality. And of
course, addicted to and defeated by chocolate. But then, what girl
isn't?
The six things I could never do without
There quite a few things I could add to this list although I've
been doing without most of them for quite a while. My son is
probably the only thing that I'm attached to enough to be
applicable, although I'll toss in love, music, chocolate, and a
really good night-sleep. Alas, I still seem to be surviving on the
bare minimum of sleep. Go figure. :)
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Life, spirituality and love. I wonder often if the person that I'm
meant to end up will find me in this life. With each new heartache,
I doubt it heavily but still yearn to find someone who gets me
completely and desires to begin a life together with devotion, and
committment.
On a typical Friday night I am
Usually one of the following (or all of the above): lounging (ie.
recovering from the week), cooking for the next week or cleaning up
the mess that I've accumulated from the past week. I used to do a
bit of dancing on Friday nights during my college days. Its so hard
to do that now, but still enjoy it when time, money and childcare
allows.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit here
That I feel more complete when happily involved with someone.
Although I'd love to stand up and scream that I don't need anyone,
and I 'spose that I don't NEED anyone, I'd rather have a partner
who makes me happy, than be single.
You should message me if
You're not totally weirded out by my info. :)
You are intelligent and can hold a good conversation, while
maintaining a degree of sillyness.
**Note - As previously posted, I am NOT interested in a casual
encounter. No games either. If you're looking for a fling, easy
sex, etc, I'm definitely not your gal.
