Um, apparently I have to write something here but self summary seems to be quite the introspective undertaking for me. I know this is important seeing as how anyone reading it will not know me but when your interests vary widely it's hard to list specific things. I'm addicted to NPR which I think is a definable interest. I'll come up with more later.

I work in a genetics lab at Washington University. It was originally part of the Human Genome Project but now we mostly do cancer research.

Sitting and staring at this blank box trying to think of something witty or clever to write.

I don't know...It never occurred to me to poll people on this subject.

Books--I always have at least one book I'm reading if not more and my tastes are fairly eclectic so I won't bother making much of a list. A few of my recent favorites off the top of my head include: "People of the Book" and "Year of Wonders" by Geraldine Brooks, "The Secret Life of Bees" by Sue Kidd and Ken Grimwoods' "Replay". I also just finished "Empire Falls" by Richard Russo and "The Road" by Cormac McCarthy which was pretty depressing but interestingly written.

Movies--Also to many to choose from so I'll just list some I have liked recently: Slumdog Millionaire, Transsiberian, Role Models, Frost Nixon, Religulous, The Rocker, Body of Lies, Righteous Kill, Step Brothers, and I'm sure many others I can't remember at the moment.

Music--I like pretty much all music, especially if it's live. I'm a bad guitar player so it's always refreshing to watch others with real talent perform. The only kind I don't care much for is the loud heavy stuff. I just don't seem to have enough angst for that.

Food--Not picky and will try most things. I do love seafood though.

Whatever happens to be on my mind at the moment. Right now I'm thinking about how to answer all these questions without seeming like an incredible jackass.

Having fun. I work all week and like to enjoy my weekends. Now that the weather is nice I try to do as much as possible outdoors because I spend all week stuck in a lab.
