My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I've the heart of a fearless kid coupled with a gentle soul smoothed by the years. Like each and every other person here, I love a good laugh and can more often than not be found reveling about in various levels of ridiculousness, so please plan to err on the side of spontaneous and adventurous fun. I think you'll find me to be open-minded, thoughtful, curious, compassionate, truly affectionate, gentle, attentive, kind and generous. I'm fairly transparent, perhaps to a fault - it's all right there on the sleeve. And, having spent my youth on the sands of San Diego, pretty laid back as well. I absolutely love kids and consider myself a pretty cool uncle, but regret having made it this far without at least one of my own. I love the life I've made surrounded by inordinately talented people, more often than not in the context of good food and wine. That said, you'll need to bring an appetite and be prepared to eat and drink often, and often absurdly so.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I work as the Creative Director for a local restaurant group. I moved to the area from Napa Valley and the wine industry several years ago and am still adjusting to the myriad differences between the coasts. Before that I was a partner in a couple of restaurants (The Blue Point / Ocean Boulevard) on the Outer Banks. I've been fortunate to merge my love of design with that of food and wine and make the two my life's work. While obviously biased, I really do have a very cool job and one that I'm happy to do in pursuit of doing great work - an easy aspiration given the incredibly talented individuals I'm surrounded by and get to play with every day.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Professionally: Pretty good at what I do, and passionately so. That said, there's just so much more to learn and so many more ideas and projects to pursue that I generally feel that I'm just getting started. Personally: I'm an extraordinarily attentive host. Years of surrounding one's self in the hospitality industry will do that to you, and I enjoy the role immensely. Oh, and I'm a loyalist to the core to those closest. In short, I will always have your back, at least when I'm not busy cooking for you.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I'm pretty tall, so there's an obvious answer. I'll add to this that I think most will quickly see that I'm really easy going, social and comfortably adaptable to almost every situation. That and the fact that parents, pets and children of all ages absolutely love me! I'm kidding, but I will always go to great lengths to put those around me completely at ease.

I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
During the day it's all about topping whatever deliverable was designed yesterday. I'm extremely fortunate to work with so many diverse people, brands and their various visual needs. It's rarely boring. Outside of work it's either one of many personal projects or the pursuit of fun, with the latter usually winning that race.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Depends. Friday is often the best night to be out and about winding up the week with great company - be it the warm companionship of 1 or a gaggle of 10. Eating, drinking and generally misbehaving about town generally gets the weekend off to a pretty great start. That said, it's also a great night to be home with someone special on the heels of a long week, plotting out the weekend over wine, something simple in the oven and nothing more pressing than a movie on the couch.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit

That I still have the keys to a pretty swell apartment in the heart of Napa Valley?

Offer a few tips to help matches win you over.
If you're fun, funny, clever, curious, adventurous, compassionate, kind, empathetic, warm-hearted and well - someone with a capacity for honest, genuine love. I'm shooting for someone who doesn't mind keeping company with a stumbling, bumbling old-school romantic. Either I've a penchant for those cinematic moments or I was simply born too late and carry with me a nostalgic ideal - but whatever the case, I still believe in love. And to my mind, nothing on earth beats that helplessly giddy feeling of falling headlong and hard. If any of this sounds like you, then please do write.
