My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I am seeing someone and he is GREAT! and yes, I met him on here. Success.

I'm weird, I'm an athlete, I laugh too loud, I like subtitles, and nerdy conversation turns me on.

I am a rower and also a coach. I coach a men's adult competitive team as well as high school girls (soooo similar). Ask me about rowing, it's an avid passion and absolutely lights me up.

My other life passion is international volunteerism. I have volunteered in Thailand with Burmese refugees and lived in Kenya working on a slum and teaching at an orphanage. I now run a small organization working to fund the education and projects at the school I taught at. Next stop? Installing water tanks in Nepal with my rowing team!

I was educated at a liberal arts school in Florida and am a nerd through and through. Favorite classes? Buddhism, Improv, Neuropsychology, Science and Religion, Ballet, Scuba, Human Rights in could accuse me of lacking focus, or consider it well-rounded. I'm on board with the latter.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Rowing, coaching, rowing, coaching, working at a rowing store, rowing...yes, you could say I am obsessed. Come on, have you ever been on the water in Seattle? It's addicting. Someday I plan to get a graduate degree in Kinesiology so I can truly understand the science behind my own life as an athlete as well as help the athletes I coach. My ultimate goal is to coach a collegiate rowing team (I am Competitive with a capital C), and organize international service trips in the summer with my athletes.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
People, people. "I really hate this question" is NOT a response.

A friend once told me, "It's a po dog who won't even wag it's own tail."

I'm really good at....
geeking out about random things--anyone read "Mental Floss"? Watch the show "Brain Games"?
making up songs about what I am currently doing.
adding toppings to fro-yo.
working out in a neon pink bandana.
playing with puppies.
surprising you. (note in your pocket, favorite cookies fresh baked, your favorite beer in the fridge....try to spoil me and I might get competitive!)
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I have a lot of energy. I don't believe tomorrow is guaranteed or in a second chance in the clouds or another life. So I'm all about today, today, today.

"Don't ask what the world needs, find what makes you come alive and go do it. Because what the world needs is people who have come alive."

It is my endeavor every day to be that person who really gets what it means to be alive.

First date I want to hear about your passions. I love a man who lights up about something he loves.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food

Books: Ender's Game series, P.S. I Love You, The Pilot's Wife, Hero of Lesser Causes, The Hunger Games, Divergent, Delirium, The God Delusion, The Power of Myth, Fahrenheit 451, Anthem, HitchHiker's Guide to the Galaxy, Game of Thrones, Tuesdays with Morrie, The Notebook, Earthsea Trilogy, Scorpio Races, the House on Mango Street
Movies: The Island, Braveheart, Time, Lord of the Rings, Troy, Alexander, Best in Show, PS I love you, Zoolander, Life is Beautiful, the Neverending Story, the First Grader
I don't own a TV but on my laptop sometimes I'll hit some Modern Family, Portlandia, or Grey's Anatomy. I own a personal copy of Summer Heights High.
Food: No rules. As an athlete I try to get protein and plants, but I eat everything. Steak, seafood, pasta, homemade pizza with goat cheese and bacon, yum, yum, yum. I'm also a sucker for Nutella, Tim Tams, and Milo (thanks to living in Oz in '09). Coffee on race day!!!! Sassy cocktails and amber beers for nights out. Pike Kilt Lifter Ruby=the best!
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
For me......
Competition. I am fueled by competing with others. Athletically as well as academically.
Family and friends. The people I surround myself with make up my world.
Books. Reading takes me to a new place, a new way of thinking...I don't know any other activity that can fuel the growth of a sentient mind more than reading.

#5 and about....memory and language.

Can you imagine a head trauma taking away one of those?! OH, man.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
how amazing the human brain is. Potentially the greatest topic in human thought: The Mind-Body Problem. How do the physical components and activities of the brain cause a conscious, self-aware existence. Why?
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Partying until the late hour of 9 pm! ....I row at 6 AM Saturday. Call me an old lady if you want, but I am out on flat, sparkling Lake Union watching the sun rise 6 days of the week--I don't feel like I am missing out on night life at all--one night at a bar is the same as any other. Which girl puked in her hair this time? Which guy is 45 and still trying to dance with 19-year-olds?

I do enjoy going out on Saturdays and damn it, I make it count--a big nap in the afternoon, espresso at 7 pm, sexy heels, and I am ready to take Seattle by storm--Fremont, Ballard, Eastlake, Belltown, Capitol Hill, watch out.

Favorite night activity with friends? GAME NIGHT. Taboo, Imaginiff, Cards Against Humanity, or some good old-fashioned Rock Band (including the fog machine, of course).

And recently....improv shows! Win.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I prefer ice cream from a gas station. It's frozen pretty damn solid. That soft stuff at QFC is just not as delicious.

you are an athlete, do not believe in supernatural deities, have ever eaten Nutella with a spoon, still enjoy swingsets, and would like to get to know a brunette who would rather talk about Aristotle than Kim Kardashian, would rather read than watch TV, would rather be on the water rowing than doing anything on the land, would rather camp in a tent than an RV, and would rather dance than watch.
