Summarize myself? That's just crazy talk. Ok, here goes. I've got a lively, spirited, playful personality with a dry, dare-I-say cheerfully sarcastic sense of humor. People are good and socializing has its place, but I re-charge when I'm alone or with a close friend and I like a lot of me time. I love being outside and enjoy exploits that have a physical challenge element to them (running, backpacking), because I like to see how far I can push myself and then like to indulge in lazing about exhausted afterwards. As this might suggest, I'm not much of a girlie girl. I do dress up sometimes and look good doing so, but dirt, sweat, insects, and the elements are all great things. I tend to be somewhat frugal in my day-to-day life, because that's the way I was raised but there are a few things worth spending money on - a nice place to live, little adventures and indulgences of all kinds, and travel. Travel I could not live without. I admit it - I'm a junkie, but nothing excites me as much as where I might go next and what I might experience there. The world is my playground. Did I forget anything? Probably, so if you've enjoyed reading this much you should stay posted. Anyway, for my purposes here, I also want to make known up front what I'm looking for - a long-term partner. I'm not in a rush; I know these things don't happen overnight and want to enjoy exploring the possibilities that are out there, but that's the ultimate objective and I want to meet people who are okay with the idea of long-term, monogomous committment with the right person. Despite being very practical and pragmatic about the little things in life, I'm very idealistic and I have a very sweet and romantic view of love. I want to find someone that I'm crazy about and refuse to settle for someone who isn't crazy about me. Also, I don't have sex outside of committed, monogomous relationships (marriage certainly not required, more like a stable dating relationship of a few months), because sex is not that enjoyable to me without a deeper knowledge and appreciation for the person I'm with. I'm looking for someone who respects this and preferably who shares this view.

I'm an MD/PhD student and yes, this means I'm crazy. When I grow up, the plan is to be an emergency room doc and to work at least occasionally in exotic locales.

Standardized tests - it was the first thing that popped into my head. Oh, and planning. Spontaneity seems to be in this season, but I'm sure that being a planner is making a comeback.

Well, being that I'm not other people it's a bit hard to tell. Sometimes I am told I have really long legs. People (ie men) also occasionally tell me that I have pretty eyes, but they may be looking at my legs while thinking it more polite to say eyes.

Books - I love reading non-fiction European history. I'm currently reading Defenders of the Faith about the political and religious conflicts of the 1520's and 30's. The Turks are about to march on Vienna - what could be more epic?
Movies - Absolute favorite is the Shawshank Redemption. But I appreciate quality in all genres.
Music - Goo Goo Dolls, Daughtry, The Fray, Matchbox 20, Maroon Five, U2, Augustana, Lifehouse, Sarah McLachlan - Pretty much anything with epic lyrics (yes, I like the word epic) and/or that inspires me to run
