I've got a lively, spirited, playful personality with a dry,
cheerfully sarcastic sense of humor. I am curious and love to
learn. I am grateful that I get to have a job that is different
every day and that encourages me to keep learning. I did biology
research for a number of years and now work as a physician.
Fortunately, I still don't know exactly what I'm going to do when I
grow up. Some combination of medicine, evolutionary biology,
genetics, and infectious diseases. I love being outside and enjoy
exploits that are physical challenging (running, backpacking).
These are best followed up by some lazing about. I do dress up
sometimes and look good doing so, but I really enjoy dirt, sweat,
and the elements. I tend to be somewhat frugal in my day-to-day
life, but there are a few things worth spending money on - a nice
place to live, little adventures and indulgences of all kinds, and
travel. Travel I could not live without. I admit it - I'm a junkie,
but nothing excites me as much as where I might go next and what I
might experience there. The world is my playground.
Did I forget anything? Probably, so if you've enjoyed reading this
much you should stay posted. Anyway, for my purposes here, I also
want to make known up front what I'm looking for - a long-term
partner. I'm not in a rush; I know these things don't happen
overnight and want to enjoy exploring the possibilities that are
out there, but that's the ultimate objective and I want to meet
people who are okay with the idea of long-term, monogamous
commitment with the right person. Despite being very practical and
pragmatic about the little things in life, I'm very idealistic and
I have a very sweet and romantic view of love. I want to find
someone that I'm crazy about and refuse to settle for someone who
isn't crazy about me. Also, I don't have sex outside of committed,
monogamous relationships (marriage certainly not required, more
like a stable dating relationship of a few months), because sex is
not that enjoyable to me without a deeper knowledge and
appreciation for the person I'm with. I'm looking for someone who
respects this and preferably who shares this view.
I am sweet, sarcastic, and wistful.
What I’m doing with my life
I'm a resident physician in Internal Medicine. Future Infectious
Diseases Doc. When I'm not at work, I'm usually either reading or
out exploring the world (I usually start with the Santa Cruz
Mountains or the city.....)
I’m really good at
Standardized tests - it was the first thing that popped into my
head. Oh, and planning. Spontaneity seems to be in this season, but
I'm sure that being a planner is making a comeback.
The first things people usually notice about me
I look European.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books - European and World History, History of Infectious Diseases,
Non-Fiction in general - Truth is much more stranger and more
dramatic than fiction.
Movies - Absolute favorite is the Shawshank Redemption. Period
TV Shows - The Tudors, Rome, Game of Thrones, Revenge, The Daily
Music - Goo Goo Dolls, Daughtry, The Fray, Matchbox 20, Maroon
Five, U2, Augustana, Lifehouse, Sarah McLachlan - Pretty much
anything with epic lyrics (yes, I like the word epic) and/or that
inspires me to run
The six things I could never do without
Pen and Paper (List Making Materials)
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I am not actually European....sigh.
You should message me if
- You want to take me on a hot date to Alice's Restaurant or the
Moss Beach Distillery (it's haunted, you know)
- You know a place in the Santa Cruz Mountains that you think I
haven't been to
- You want to take me on a road biking outing (I have a fairly new
road bike that is in dire need of some adventures)
- You want to go on a ~30 mile running adventure (ideas
Woodside/Portola Valley to the Ocean, Skyline to the Sea Trail,
Ohlone Trail in the East Bay - note I don't make any claims about
being particularly fast and you don't have to be fast either, just
- You think we would be a good match
