My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Here we go again.
I am an open minded person, loving the clichee for its own sake but not actually applying clichees to anyone. I do make an effort to get to know the persons I am in contact with, although I have to admit that I miserably fail with persons that don't interest me. Also, if not kept in check, I tend to amass many social contacts to the point where I have to plan very carefully so nobody gets left behind. People tend to like me, which I attribute to me being easily approachable, low maintenance and pretty relaxed most of the time. I try not to judge (and actually succeed in that, most of the time, sometimes to my disadvantage) and accept people the way they are - although not without suggesting improvements if I feel the person in question could profit from those suggestions.
I can be a little controlling, though I try to refrain from being that way with other people (and succeed, most of the time) and rather compartmentalize that to my computer where I can play god undisturbed. Furthermore, I can be somewhat erratic in my thoughts and actions, decide similar matters completely differently without others being able to understand the reasoning behind it and am a creative person. Oh and funny, of course, why wouldn't I be?
What other facets are there that make me me? I have a rather large array of interests and am knowledgeable in diverse subjects, like literature, philosophy, people, behavior, politics, computers, technology.. I love writing and very much enjoy other creative types around. Thinking out of the box is important to me and narrow-minded people easily annoy me or bore me to bits. Also, I am an Atheist, teacher and got my life together most of the time. I can be moody too, especially in the mornings if I haven't had my coffee/green tea yet. Oh and last but not least, I can go on and on about myself, if you don't stop me. Alerted to my ramblings, I can enjoy listening to you talking about you for a while as well. After all, I might just enjoy getting to know you. (If you want to hear me talk (German)) (If you want to get an idea of what kind of stuff i am writing, German as well) (Okay, for you English-speaking Metal fans..)
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Reading a lot, writing my own stuff (which at the moment is a longer story that might finally be finished this year). Also, I am doing my "internship" position as a teacher.
I try and go out a bit for company, distraction and general amusement.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
- Socializing. I just get along well with others and like to treat them nicely. Making others feel good is among my favorite pastimes.
- Understanding things. I like to dig into things that interest me and understand how they work.
- Writing. At least when it's a story or something I enjoy writing. I love words and the things one can do with them.
The first things people usually notice about me

I really don't know. I'd say that they notice that
a) I'm funny and
b) like to talk.
I also like to think that people notice my good looks first, but I don't think I'm that stunning.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food

Why do 9 out of 10 profiles I visit include "Fight Club" among their favorite movies (conspiracy theory, anyone?)?

(A) Terry Pratchett, Neil Gaiman (Sandman!), Bill Bryson (Short History of Nearly Everything, Shakespeare), The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy (everyone needs a bible, right?). Mathieu Ricard, David Goleman, Damasio, Christopher Moore, Richard Dawkins, Barry Schwartz... I enjoy a good mix of science books (language, psychology, philosophy) and thoughtfully entertaining books (fantasy and such).
(B) Loads of films, ususally action comedies and thoughtful films. For relaxation purposes, I prefer movies that are fun to watch. The thoughtful ones I prefer when my brain hasn't been stressed much over the course of the day. Films i tend to dislike are silly romantic films (though there are some good romantic ones), films that are pretentious (including every damn David Lynch film). Series > Movies ;)
(C) I tend to listen to almost every kind of music there is, mostly Dancehall, Metal, Rock, Classic, Musical, Irish Folk (sometimes, yeah), Jazz, Funk, Electronic Music like Neurofunk, Jump Up and Ambient Psy (Shpongle). Favorite band at the moment is [Dunkelbunt]
(D) Love Food..though seafood is not my pois(s)on (French joke). I cook a lot and try to have a balanced (not vegetarian) diet.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Friends, Relatives, Music, Writing, Intimacy (including but not limited to sex), Silence
(Strictly speaking I would have to write: Food, Water, Shelter, Clothing, Purpose and Family, but who would want to read "the basics" of every carbon-based life form?)
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
There's no recurring motif, my thoughts just wander around like molecules of H2O in the ocean. Oh look, there's a bird!
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Meeting friends to a) go out b) spend quality time c) play games.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I really get annoyed by people that take religion seriously. My view on religion is that Dawkins is dead-on and religious people delude themselves. I do like my open mind, but if you take religion seriously, well... it does have its limits.

You like to talk to or meet someone that's giving, caring, funny, intelligent, emotionally stable and reliable and if you, in turn, are a balanced, fair girl/guy that doesn't think about him/herself all the time.
And (I promise this is the last) DO NOT BE HER:
