Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Hi! Thanks for stopping by!
I'm not from Lafayette originally, you'll either notice that here
or bytalking to me and hearing I dont have an ounce of southern
accent. I came from the north, Michigan specifically until I was
about 25 years old where I moved to West Texas for school. I spent
about six years and it was wonderful. The adventure of the culture
there and the schooling I went through was probably one of the best
expereriences I could have hoped to have in my life. With a few
adventurous summers of internships I eventually landed here in
Lafayette, I love it here. I can complain about the heat and
humidty every day, but I still love it here and don't plan to leave
for a while.
I'm a very easy going guy, I just go with the flow and try not to
make any waves. But that doesn't mean I'm a pushover, I am very
firm in the beliefs and values I have and won't let myself get run
over. I'm not into conflict and fights, so if you're the person
that wants to argue every Friday night and then make up on
Saturday, I'm not your guy. You'll end up making up with yourself.
Of course I will fight for something that is of value, I am not
going to let myself lose out on something without giving everything
I can. I've lost enough in my life to know what is worth fighting
for and what is worth hurting for.
I'm looking for someone that's also pretty easy going, I'm not
crazy about arguments and fighting. I know it happens, but it's
it's not something I enjoy or consider a form of sport. I want
someone that's okay with my corny and goofy sense of humor, some
people can't handle it or don't understand it and it can get
frustrating. I can be sarcastic and a little negative about some
things sometimes, I don't usually mean it, it's usually for a bit
of humor or to just get people to think. I want someone that
doesn't want to go out all the time, I'm really not into the bar
scene at all anymore. Going to dinner a lot, that's perfectly
acceptable though, I like being out and about. Someone that is
happy just sitting around at home watching tv, watching movies,
cooking together, or just enjoying one another's company. Someone
that is self sufficient too, I don't want to have to totally take
care of someone, someone that has a job, is actively getting a new
job, or in school and has a plan. Someone that is active enough to
be able to go for a long walk or an easy hike. Someone that may
want to join me and play some sports sometimes. There's so many
things I can put here but I don't want to get too specific, you
never know who you could miss out on.
So that's my gigantic summary that glosses over almost every bit of
me, but that's okay if you're intrigued you'll contact me and ask
me anyways. I won't even hold it against you if you didn't read the
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I'm come through school over a large number of years and gotten a
BS in Geology
an MS is Geophysics
. I have a good job here in
Lafayette that I enjoy, but I'm not one to define myself by my job.
A job is what I do, my life is what I live.
I spend a lot of time exercising, playing Frisbee and going to the
gym. I try to keep active and energetic.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
I'm pretty good at being creative, especially when I look into my
cupboard and only find a few ingredients. You never know what you
can do when you have limited resources. Not always a winner, but I
enjoy it anyways.
I won't say I'm really an expert at anything, but I'm usually
pretty well rounded when I try new things.
I can always come up with some corny joke or pun or something to
make you either smile or think. I've described it like a stick of
lit dynamite, it gets thrown and you don't really know what's going
on, then a few seconds later BOOM.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I've been told most people see my blue eyes.

The things I like to do are pretty varied. I like to keep active
between sports and the gym and just overall keeping moving when I
can. I'm not into watching sports very much though, probably the
only chance you have of seeing me watching sports here in town is
at a hockey game. I play frisbee 3 or 4 times a week I would say,
when I'm in an energetic mood 3 or 4 days at the gym a week. I used
to play volleyball a lot up at Volley Beach, but a shoulder injury
and general lack of time has kept me away.
I enjoy movies, books, and tv. After I exhaust myself exercising
there isn't much else to do. I'll focus mostly on sci-fi and
fantasy so that puts me in the geek range of things. I grew up
about the biggest comic nerd as a teen and nearly fit the
stereotype to a t. I'm probably the only person in the world that
didn't think The Hangover was hilarious.
I enjoy cooking and learning about cooking. I used to be
experimenting in the kitchen all the time, but I've slowed down a
bit. I do still love to make something when I have the chance. I've
tried making many many a varied recipe. I totally love to make food
for other people both as paries and small groups. If you like to
talk about food, you'll never run out of conversation with me. I'm
guaranteed to make you hungry.
Music isn't too big of a deal to me. I like almost every genre but
rap and hip hop don't usually rub me the right way. I prefer
listening to country, classic rock
, or anything that
might be new and interesting for the moment. I'm not into live
music, it's usually just loud and mediocre, if I'm out and about I
want to be able to talk with the people I'm with.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Shoes... I hate stepping on sharp rocks.
My truck... being reliant on everyone else or stuck somewhere would
drive me crazy.
A phone... no phone in particular, but I really like to keep in
touch with my friends and family especially since most of them are
out of state.
Food... obviously this is becoming a theme. I love my food, and I'd
rather not deprive myself of what my tastebuds can enjoy.
... goes along
with the food. I could probably get by without one, but I really
wouldn't want to.
Weekends... I can do a lot during the week if I work at it, but
nothing beats sleeping in or having that feeling at midnight
knowing tomorrow doesn't even matter yet.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
I think about places I want to travel once I get a little more
vacation time, I want to see the mountains again, some desert,
maybe some more mountains, and some big wide open places.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
I'm not sure what a typical Friday night is anymore. Go with the
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
7-14-12 - Well... for this week I will admit I just dropped the
hose and of course it fell nozzle up and hosed my face and entire
(lots happened in between, I forgot to add them though)
8-8-13 - I nearly put my shoes on before I put my pants on while
getting ready to go to work.
