I am clever, vibrant, and refreshing.

My Self-Summary

I've always been the naive little girl who loves easily and completely, believes that everyone is good at heart, and genuinely wants to save the world.

I'm convinced that someday, I'll grow up. And when I do, I'll be a bad ass 80 year old with blue hair and big red glasses who lives on the beach, starts each morning with a passion-fruit mimosa, and pops wheelies on her HoverRound.

I've found someone who wants to know the old lady version of myself as badly as I do, and it's pretty awesome. We're in a stalemate on which old lady name is most fitting for me though: Maude or Pearl. Opinions?

What I’m doing with my life

I'll graduate from college with a degree in financial economics, anthropology minor in May, and then the real world kicks in. Maybe. I'm not convinced I'll ever find the real world entirely. I think living on the fringes of reality suits me pretty well. So, I'm considering moving to Australia next year on a working holiday visa, but I'm undecided. As much as I love travel, the cost benefit analysis of leaving my friends and family doesn't provide a clear winner.

Ultimately, I'd like to own a hula hoop studio/store, so I may go back to school for an MBA at some point. I'd also like to work for a nonprofit philanthropy while I'm young enough to survive on meager earnings.

I’m really good at

sarcasm, hugging, and creating awkward turtle moments.

The first things people usually notice about me

Physically, most people notice my height. At 5'10, I'm a pretty tall lady. And dresses. I wear dresses most of the time (weather and laundry permitting) and apparently that's worth a double take. Who knew.

I'm also exceptionally expressive. I'll reserve any quality judgments; I'm just throwing the reality out there.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

I don't do well picking favorites. The last book I read was "The Enthusiast" by Charlie Haas, and it was phenomenal. I'm still not entirely sure why it struck such a chord with me, even after reading it three or four times, but I won't complain. It's better not to analyze that kind of relationship, even just with a book, and luxuriate in the warm fuzzies.

I have an intense love for children's books, oddly enough. I still regularly read Shel Silverstein's compilations (Falling Up is my favorite) and Dr. Seuss books. Goodnight, Moon still has an undeniable charm, and it's likely my favorite book. But that could change tomorrow.

I've spent more time with movies in the past few weeks than ordinarily. I've realized that I thoroughly enjoy children's movies- Wall*e, Finding Nemo, Babe (yes, that gallant pig). Black and white classics are always fun, Brief Encounter and Philadelphia Story probably constituting my favorites.

Music defines most of my life. I'll have to flesh this part out later, as any relationship this vital deserves more than a midnight mind. Suffice it to say that I enjoy music. I respect all music, and most if it finds a place somewhere in my world, even if it's just a lost corner of itunes.

Artists listened to most frequently (courtesy of itunes): Chris Thile / Punch Brothers, Drive-By Truckers, The Features, Phoenix, Kings of Leon, Wilco, Tom Petty, The Avett Brothers, Band of Horses, My Morning Jacket, Whiskeytown, Ryan Adams, MGMT, Creedence Clearwater Revival, Regina Spektor, Tom Waits, tvontheradio, Jessica Lea Mayfield, Coconut Records, Why?, Fanfarlo, Hackensaw Boys, Margot & the Nuclear So and So's

I love going to shows, where I abhor people who nod their heads to truly fantastic bands. For less than amazing, I can accept head bops, but a great show deserves dancing- with your hands. It's not dancing if you don't use your hands... I'll get off my soap box now.

I'm an absolute foody, and I'm unashamed. Pad thai, yogurt, fried green tomatoes, artificially fruit flavored candy, actual fruit, lamb biryani, calimari, black eyed peas, cheddar cheese, mashed sweet potatoes, creamed corn, and homemade rice krispy treats are probably my favorites for the time being.

The six things I could never do without

1. Music
2. Sunshine. I love me some vitamin D.
3. Bubbles. This is directly correlated to #2.
4. Cuddling. Preferably with a human, but teddy bears fill in as needed.
5. Artificially fruit flavored candy. It's a weakness.
6. Sleep. You don't want to see me on 6 hours sleep in 72 hours. Trust me.

I spend a lot of time thinking about

traveling. I have a borderline obsessive desire to travel any and everywhere. Recently, roadtrips have been my salvation. I escape to Louisville or Cincinnati regularly, with less regular but still frequent trips to Knoxville, Nashville, and West Virginia.

I spent a semester studying in London, and it only wet my appetite to live in another country again. I decided when I was around 6 years old that I wanted to visit every continent, and I still do. 4 down, 3 to go.

On a typical Friday night I am

where I need to be.

I try to avoid falling into the "typical" trap. So, I'll list my activities of the last several Friday nights instead.

-rocking out at a concert in Nashville (KoL);
-hosting an impromptu hooping shindig/teaching people how to hula hoop in my dorm;
-breaking into a pool to swim in Knoxville (in 40 degree weather);
-dancing at a massive fraternity party;
-enjoying a concert in Louisville (Fruit Bats!);
-roasting marshmallows and laughing around a fire with some friends.

I do my best to find the characters and create situations that could be compiled into a life-altering novel (that would later, undoubtedly, be transposed into an underwhelming movie).

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

Just ask me questions yourself. That's generally how the best conversations start.

You should message me if

you have more personality than little white boxes can contain.

To re-clarify: I'm happily entangled with a pretty spiffy guy, lyler983, so if you're only looking for a romantic connection, you'll be disappointed. However, if you're interested in a friend who's silly, irreverent, and intelligent at the same time, we should probably talk.
